I hole heatedly agree. Like i didn't  even know about any of this kindof stuff until I started watching Tek Syndicate and they were talking about it. I never knew it existed before 4-5 months ago but i've been actively telling people to help do something about it. I feel like people just arent educated enough about the issue to understand the full implication of it or they are been feed bs.

This article originally came from the December 2013 issue of Popular Science magazine. It states things that Linus has been saying for a long time now. Even to the point of the Nvidia Shield as ,essentially, a console replacement.

    http://www.popsci.com/bown/2013/depth/so-long-dear-console-we-knew-you-well

Forty-one years ago, Magnavox introduced the first cartridge-based console, the Odyssey. Seven generations later, the boxes have become fixtures in our entertainment centers. What’s not to love? Consoles represent the pinnacle of electronic engineering (the PlayStation 4’s graphics processor, for example, can perform 1.8 trillion operations per second). Yet despite that, it’s been a rough couple of years for console gaming. Sales and rentals  of disc-based games, like the ones that are core to the Xbox and PlayStation ecosystems, dropped by 21 percent last year. The console won’t be far behind.
The issue isn’t that gamers have suddenly stopped playing; they’re just getting their games in different ways. Virtual shops, such as Steam, have made it easy to download titles without relying on brick-and-mortar stores. (Digital downloads spiked 16 percent in 2012.) And cloud services such as OnLive stream games directly over the Internet. As a result, developers no longer need to choose between the Sony and Microsoft ecosystems or spend time coding titles for both platforms. Games can now be console agnostic.
Beyond that, what passes for a console is also changing. The Razer Edge Pro, a Windows 8 tablet, can download and render console-quality titles, such as Dishonored and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The Nvidia Shield, an Android-based handheld, can stream PC games. Both devices have powerful enough graphics engines—the Shield’s chipset can handle nearly a trillion operations per second—to drive an image on an HDTV over HDMI and do so with little sacrifice in quality.
In this democratized gaming world, where consumers have more places to get games and more ways to play them, consoles can’t compete. Right now, a couple of people in a basement can release a game instantly in the Google Play store and make a solid profit charging a few bucks per download. And it won’t stop at small start-up vendors. If tablets can play blockbuster games, big-name developers can cut themselves off from Sony and Microsoft too. Consoles are going the way of CD players—and for better or worse, the eighth generation will likely be our last. —Colin Lecher

I know this subject has been brought up before and I know that the the 800D and 600T grommets will fit the 300R. What I would like to know is if the grommet set for the 350D will fit the 300R. I sent Corsair this question and was simply told to get the set for the 600T,I feel like thats the generic answer they give everyone. The reason I ask is because the price difference in the sets one is $15.99 the other is $3.99. Does anyone have access to both a 350D and 300R?

I can now confirm that the grommet kit for the 350D is compatible and will work with the 300R. I also ordered the 300r HDD upgrade kit and two replacement HDD trays. The HDD upgrade kit only comes with two trays but can hold four that's why I ordered extra. Links for these products are below as well as before and after pictures of the grommets.

I really hate that everyone describes their GPU with the phrase "it plays every game on max settings at 60 FPS".. The thing I hate the most about it is that people will say it for just about everything from a single 660 up to dual 780s.. There's a huge difference there, so people shouldn't use the same phrase to describe them both.

Yes, this is my suggestion. Depending on where the infected files are, probably your OS drive, format and re install the OS. You could also just do a repair but for me its just as simple to do either.

I wouldn't worry about Steam you can always download your games again. If you have formatted your OS drive I wouldn't format the other unless problems persist after you reinstall the OS. Have you installed an OS before? If not I can walk you through it.

I see you have 2 HDDs. What is your setup, are either of them partitioned or are they full sized in relation to the capacity, how many drives show under "My Computer"? Is your 320 you OS drive and the 1tb storage?

Agreed. Move what files you want to keep to a separate drive and do a fresh install of your OS. That is usually faster, less frustrating, WILL fix the problem.

If they are system files, you could do an in place install of windows to reinstall your os while keeping your files. Run sfc /scannow in an elevated cmd to check your system files' integrity.

My parents have had an old P4 Dell since around 2000 - 2001 and i finally convinced them they needed an upgrade. The system i put together for them is in no way a power house but it will serve its purpose. My mother does picture editing occasionally and plays Zuma and my dad just uses it for email and general internet use.

    Parts List:

    Case - Cooler Master N200
MB - Asus M5A78L-M LX Plus
    CPU - AMD FX4300
               Cooler Master Hyper 212+
    PSU - Corsair CX500M
    HDD - 1TB WB Black
GPU - EVGA 9800GT 1GB   ( I had this laying around and didn't see the point in buying a better card for what this system will be used for)
    RAM - 8GB (2x4) Crucial Ballistix Sport 1333
              Lite On DVD/CD burner
              Sabrent 68-in-1 card reader
120mm Cooler Master Blue LED Case Fan

A few shots with everything installed.

This is why I chose to get an additional case fan. I moved the stock exhaust fan to the front to have an additional intake for positive pressure.

    With the side panel on.

    From the front.

The case wasn't that bad to build in considering it is only $50. The sheet mental is thin but it is reinforced with bends in crimping where it counts. The only thing that would make it just a little better would be more space behind the mother board for cable management. The case would make a great LAN rig, it has nice airflow and would be easy to mod with a couple handles on the ends or one the length of the case.
