  1. I have recently bought an ASUS TUF F15 laptop with an rtx 3060, and find that the nvidia HUD display always shows the fan speed at 0 rpm - even with the temp at 75-80 range. ASUS own monitoring software shows GPU fan behaving normally. I’d have figured that Nvidia software would have the most accurate reading since the fan is on the card - or is that not the case with laptop GPUs? Anyone else seen this issue? Or do I have a defective GPU? Thanks!
  2. So a number of people have suggested to me that it is an issue with one of the capacitors on the motherboard struggling to discharge normally. The 5-10 second delay is thus the time for the capacitor to discharge itself. When powering on the computer after it has been unplugged for more than a day, it starts up normally the first time, which would tend to support this view.
  3. Did you ever find out what was causing this? I have an ASUS B550 exhibiting the same problem. I don’t think it is normal behaviour because it sometime starts up normally - power light and fans come on as soon as button is pressed. Most of the time, though, it is completely dead for 5 or so seconds before springing to life.
  4. I have a new desktop computer which is exhibiting a strange problem. When pressing the power button, nothing at all happens for around 5 seconds, it is as the button had not been pressed. After a 5 second delay the power light and fans abruptly come on and the computer boots up normally. Sometimes it powers up normally, with the power light and fans responding the instance the power button is pressed, but I can find no pattern to when this happens. Replacing the PSU did not resolve the problem, so I am assuming it is something to do with the motherboard, which is an ASUS B550-PLUS TUF GAMING. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks.
