  1. I guess that it could make it harder to become a driver if they had to take into account the possibility of being fired or laid-off. It could be for only people "on clock" for more than X hours a day too I guess...
  2. As a P.S (or footnote) Sorry if this post is written poorly, English isn't my native language. And I haven't posted here in a while, but am trying to get back into soon!
  3. Summary Four New Zealand Uber drivers have won employment rights in a ruling against the company this morning. This ruling re-classes the drivers as employees, not independent contractors. Giving them rights like minimum wage, guaranteed hours, holiday pay and sick leave. The ruling, which sought a declaration of employment status for the four drivers, found "Uber has bullied its way into cities all over the world with a deliberate strategy of breaking the law and exploiting drivers - that ends here in Aotearoa (New Zealand) today." Quotes My thoughts My thoughts are positive here; This could be the start of other countries re-considering what Uber drives and other "contract workers" (IE: Uber Eats, Grubhub, Door Dash) are employed as. I see this as a positive move and hope that other places around the world take action. I'd love to hear y'alls opinions in the comments too! Sources 1News New Zealand RNZ (Radio New Zealand)
  4. Keep in mind other social media platforms exist, Also that there are other bans on content/sites that range up to 18/21 Y/O's
  5. Summary China will add a new rule for youth under 14 accessing the china version of the popular app TikTok. Childen under the age of 14 will be restricted to 40 minutes a day (Between the hours of 0600 to 2200) on the china-friendly version of TikTok. This adds to the list of restrictions that are already placed on Chinese youth like how video games can only be played for 3 hours a week on weekends during the day. Quotes Sources BBC
  6. Summary Windows pushed the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22000.176 update to Dev and Beta windows insider users today. The update contained a bug which caused most if not all users PC's to become unusable as it removed the taskbar and most OS programs. Quotes My thoughts This is intresting, As windows 11 (As with most versions of windows) comes with auto OS updates so most people wouldn't think to check if an update was installed. There is a way to fix the issue HERE. However you might not be able to update if a patch is rolled out as most OS programs do not work. (Win+R, Win+I) There are a few programs that can run with shortcuts like the Ctrl+Alt+Del screen as well as Task manager (Crtl+Shift+Esc.) Let's hope that microsoft can fix the issue via Windows update and users won't have to manualy reinstall windows. Sources https://aka.ms/BetaLatest Windows Central
