Hi,
My 15 year old daughter her computer is acting up and it's probably fixable but she would like to build her first pc so this seems like a great excuse to upgrade. I don't game much anymore so she's getting my GPU and PSU, the case will be a Christmas gift from her aunt but the rest will be bought with her own money.
1. Budget & Location
She has €500 on her account and she's willing to spend it all. I would like it if she would still have some money left afterwards but also believe in buy once - cry once. If we have to spend it all so she doesn't have to upgrade for a very long time then that would be fine. We live in the Netherlands.
2. Aim
She's a Minecraft junkie, she loves to play online with her friends. I might be able to tempt her to play some other games like Tomb Raider in the future, I think she'll really like it but whatever dad suggest isn't cool of course... (Even though I was the one that introduced her to Minecraft, she has seem to forgotten that part...) She'll also use it for school, maybe some messing around with OBS and a green screen because she said she wanted to record a fly over with commentary of their Minecraft world before they start a new world in the latest Minecraft version.
3. Monitors
She'll probably use 2 monitors the majority of the time but a tv will also be connected. All 3 are 1080p.
4. Peripherals
She's getting a gaming keyboard and new (second hand) monitors for Christmas so no peripherals needed.
5. Why are you upgrading?
It's probably a faulty connection on the SSD but like I said, it's a great excuse to upgrade and have her build her first PC.
6. What we already have:
Her aunt bought her a case: Cooler Master Masterbox Q300L
She's getting my GPU: Radeon RX 580
And my PSU: Cooler Master MWE Bronzen 550
I would love your help selecting a motherboard, CPU, RAM, SSD, cooler, fans, cables etc. It would also be my first full build (I have only replaced stuff up till now, never build from scratch) so please feel free to add stuff if I'm forgetting something.
Thank you very much in advance from the both of us.
