  1. I completely disagree I have used the 450w for over a year it was whisper quiet so is my friends he has the 550w. I trust them so much I decided to save the money on my new build and get the 600w br for my new build. I know there is better psu's no question about that but these have served many well. Out of user reviews on amazon it has a 4.7 out 5 stars from over 1k users so most people who have bought them seem to also have had a good experience.
  2. I have had fantastic reliability out of the EVGA BR series. Have a friend used one for 2-3years never an issue. Also Linus has been using EVGA with his budget builds. But I do agree there is better psu's you could buy but if you can't afford a more expensive unit I speak from experience with the EVGA BR units they are pretty reliable
  3. I think the heatsink may have not been getting good contact if it made that much of a difference and it had thermal paste. When you re-applied the paste it must have seated properly. I'm pretty sure with temps as high as they were it was shutting off as a safety precaution to prevent damage. Glad it is working for you now
  4. I wish they could do some form of Scrapyard Wars without the dangers of actual contact with people due to current world problems. It could have Linus and maybe have Luke involved if possible since I think it wouldn't be the same without him. They could have a set limit of an hour or so to order everything they need to build the most powerful pc within their set budget and they would only be allowed to order used components. They should also not have huge budgets maybe $300-400 which I think would really make for an entertaining video. Maybe throw in some extra hurdles like they can't use certain major websites so it really takes some effort to get the victory
  5. I just ordered the TXM 550W better safe than snap crackle pop I did decide to cancel the order for the Corsair as it was back-ordered and would have delayed my build. I switched to a cheaper model and ended up with the EVGA 600w bronze for around $60. I have had really good luck with EVGA power supplies in the past few years and seen Linus himself has been using them in his budget builds also
  6. Can't cancel it is already shipped. If the 1st one works will order the 2nd and give it a try. If they don't work will send both these suckers back, Since I bought them from a major company no individual person will be affected so I won't feel too bad about the returns
  7. I have already ordered 1 stick and to be completely honest If it doesn't work I will probably just return it lol
  8. Yea not sure it is listed. not seen many complaints of incompatibility in the reviews tho. So will agree this one might be a hit or miss
  9. What would be the cheapest psu you would recommend?
  10. I do believe they have the 16gb Teamgroup ram listed as compatible
  11. I would like to get away with around $50 for a psu if possible. I did the single stick of ddr4 because I might pick up a 2nd stick of 16gb if performance it hurt too much. might jump on the 2nd stick now rather than later since ram is so cheap rn
  12. It is about a year old. My old pc was an Optiplex 7010 I upgraded the psu so it could run a 1060 6gb
