I'm thinking about getting a Valve Index VR headset, but I need help building a pc! I'm a total beginner when it comes to PC building, so I'd figured I'd ask you guys for help (since most of you already have PCs built for gaming/VR). This PC will be used for mostly for VR gaming and some basic video editing for work. I have the money saved up already for the Index and PC, so I'm trying to buy all these parts ASAP (Index is about to ship to me). I already have a monitor, keyboard, mouse setup, so I won't be needing those. I'm trying to stick around $1000-$1500 price range, and I know the 3080 won't be in stock for a while (so I'm looking for alternatives like 2070, etc.). With my price range, I know I won't be able to play at 144hz, but I would love to try to get the most bang for buck.
