Hi,
A friend of mine asked me to put together a gaming pc for €700 (wich is about $US 950). I live in the Netherlands so I can't use discounts on newegg or ncix etc.
I haven't been in the loop regarding gpu's and cpu's the last 2 years so I'm not exactly sure how powerfull of a cpu he needs. I am looking to spend most of the money on a gpu and get a decent cpu that will keep him going for the coming 4 years. The main purpose of this build will be gaming but he wants to be able to use Photoshop and perhaps some video editing software in the future (which shouldn't be a problem I think).
Also I would like some advice on whether or not getting ram faster than 1600MHz will benefit him (significantly enough to pay the extra bucks for it).
I was thinking about putting in a 240/256 GB SSD, 8gigs of 1600MHz ram, an i5 cpu and a as powerful a possible gpu.
He already has a 1080p monitor and peripherals so those don't need to be included in the price. He does however still need a case for the system preferably one with usb 3.0 ports on the front. (I can pick a case my self but keep it in mind for the budget).
Summary:
Purpose: Gaming and possibly light editing
Budget: €700 / /$US 950 / $CAD 1020 / £550
Not Needed: Peripherals, Monitor, mechanical hard drive
Required: 256/240 GB SSD
I hope you guys can give me some good ideas and suggestions.
Thanks in advance,
Jinior
