  1. Same, but I used it for 4 months and still could not stand the modern UI, OPTIONS is what people want JUST ADD THE FRICKIN START MENU! How hard is it to actually have an options which lets you choose wether you want modern ui or the classic start? I mean common!
  2. As I once was an onwer of a 7990 I cannot recommend these cards at all, yes they were beast, drove my 3x1080p 120Hz monitors fine, but and this is a big but, that coil whine was the worst I have ever heard. I had my enclosure closed, on the floor with headphones on, music in my ears and could still hear the hard coil whine. Had the card replaced twice because I thought a third time is the lucky one, but to my disappointment it was not. So I just saved myself the hassle and bundled up two evga 780 in sli and the computer is quiet again. I would recommend you to buy the 780 over the 7990 because of this, but if you do not mind this coil whine(hard to describe, a must hear to know what I am talking about) then 7990 is a beast of a card and eyefinity SOOOO much easier than nvidia surround. // D-tail
  3. Sweden, 259 SEK around 40 USD for 100/100Mbit fibre, always full speed.
  4. Using the Asus sabertooth x79 myself and have not had a single problem with it. Having my 3820 OC to 4.75Ghz 24/7, stable as a rock! From my experince I will recommend this board.
  5. Well just go for it, watch the temp and if the graphic starts to artifact just turn it down a notch. Dont ever rush it. I think you will be fine
  6. The more load the GPU is put under the more heat it will output, the voltage has a maximum, everything stock is nothing you have to worry about.
  7. All GPUS has a overtemp protection built in that can not be disabled, it will shut down your computer @102-103 degrees Celcius. everything around 90 is fine. Like someone said earlier its the voltage that degrade the cards not the heat.
  8. To much "Go here do that and come back" or "See the dot on the map, fast travel kill and get back!" not enough immersion in the games, feels more like movies(Tomb raider) not enough incentive to actually pay attention, see skyrim! Want more games like the elder scolls before skyrim where I actually found quests reading through books, could follow a story that were pasted down through the NPC telling you stuff.
  9. Haha nice to see it spreads :D, have all of my computers as Linux mint 15 and only 1 windows 7 for gaming. Gotta love Linux and not to hard to learn! Just got finished switching my last computer today. And freenas as a fileserver with ZFS <3, Ubuntu server with rsync and pfsense as my router! Yeah linux all the way hihi!
  10. Cant go wrong with a 3820 and a 780, got 780 in sli paired with a 3820@4.75Ghz, smooth as butter!
  11. Na dont pre-order games, sales and reviews is the way to go on pc gaming :D still waiting for the big Metro last light sale on steam!
  12. Yeah, no http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?&m=1618312&mpage=1 Dont want to be that guy, but seeing as this guy has 4x670(4gb) at a resolution far exceeding that of the topic creator I would safely bet 2x780 will be just fine for a heavy modded skyrim. And to top it of he barely uses 3 Gb. Just one quick search will let you know these card have it really hard utilizing 4 gb of vram because of the 256bit bus. Firefox -> Inställningar -> Sekretess -> Historik -> Firefox kommer att: Inte spara någon historik. Firefox->Options->Privacy->History-> Firefox will: Never remember history Ont, Go for the 780 they are beast!! Got 2 of them in sli loving them :D
  13. Yeaaaah, might be the wrong forum for this?
  14. Well if even read what Bittorrent sync is, then you would have replied like that. To put it short it is a free software that syncs to diffrent computers using the Bittorrent protocol. It syncs automated and if you change a file from one computer it changes them all, use it to backup several files from my freenas to a w2k8r2 server, Love it. It has even the neat feature of syncing offsite which is really nice. Its like making your own cloud!
  15. Bittorent sync, easy and free http://labs.bittorrent.com/experiments/sync.html
  16. Cant go wrong with it :D love my 1000w! quiet, efficent and haswell ready :P
  17. Wait what? no 780´s?? Got 2 of em.....
  18. Ofcourse they will, have not said otherwise, but if you want to survive and sell games then you have to cater to the masses, its the way it works, no way around it(still look at 360/ps3, games will still be released to these consoles 2-3 years from now)! And if 50%(like the articale I posted) has a core 2 duo then the devs better optimise their games for those recommended speccs until more people get better computers. I think enthusiasts tend to forget that we are few in comparison that actually can max out games the way we want. But playing games and maxing them out are two diffrent things. I can just go to myself, I upgrade my computer every year with the latest(now 2x780, 32 gig of ram, ssds and whatnot you get my point). But my friends has an upgrade cycle of 6-7 years because they just dont care to max the games as long as they can play them at a decent fps.
  19. Thats because it scales with whatever vram thats available its more than just the vram in play with graphical cards. If I through in my 680 2 gig card it will use around 1.9 gig of loaded visual effects, if I then try my 6950 1 gig its not even maxing it out in vram, high settings 4xAA(BF3 btw). If the graphical processor is efficent enough to utilise that 1 gig of vram you wont see much diffrence in performance. More vram is only benefical if you are playing at higher resolution or with all the eyecandy turned on. For 1080p and 2-3 years from now I still state you will be fine playing your games. And now with the gefore experince out avarage joe dont even need to fiddle with the graphical settings. The program will do it for you. Old articale but still very hot http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/Galaxy-GeForce-GTX-670-GC-4GB-Graphics-Card-Review/Conclusions-and-Final-Thou //D-tail
  20. Well if your anus is ready tomorrow, I might just skip tomorrow to save me that picture in my head.
  21. Well cant really say it that way either, the driver allocates whatever vram is available and loads/renders textures, models and what not thats visual. If you have 1 gb of vram available you can almost be certain that the driver will allocate that 1 gb for the next application that requires it. If you dont experince slowdowns, lagg, crashes your card is performing as it should and no need to add more vram. But if you load a bigger texture, more AA, SSAO or any other image enchancing features you might feel this in the sense of fps loss or even crashes, but saying that games uses 2.5Gb of ram is plain wrong, it all depends on what you have in your computer. And the unified memeory thing, well if my ram is not operating at the same MHZ as the vram of my GPU I will be at a loss, when RAM gets the same speed as the vram well unified memory can benefit, but me personally dont see it benefiting much at the moment.
  22. Pacman for our 286 computer with three colour screen!!! Moonstone and Super cars 2 for amiga!!! Best games ever, even sat in a closet with a friend playing on a 14 inch fat TV(it got hot in there and not in the naughty sense). Double dragon for nes and Super metroid for snes. Then pc games got all of my attention, Red alert, starcraft, Half life, Motohead, CS and so on it went!
  23. They dont, all they see is OMG OMG OMG Xbone and PS4(GDDR5) has 8 gig of ram, damn all our computers will be obsolete and cant run anything once they hit the market. But this market like all else is about mo+ney and if you make games that cant run on avarge joes computer well you dont sell any games.....
