  1. I've been planning for a new computer for a few months. Would it be worth the extra 100 bucks to upgrade from a 3600 to a 5600x? my current budget is between 1200 and 1300 USD.
  2. Great, thanks! I was just planning for a computer that I plan to buy within the next couple weeks/months and PC Part Picker tossed me an error code saying it may need an adapter. I'll just make sure to buy a model that mentions the adapter specifically just to be safe.
  3. Hi, does a ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO CPU Cooler need an adapter when connecting to a Gigabyte B550 GAMING X ATX AM4 Motherboard? If so, where would I be able to find one?
  4. Very nice. Thanks for all of you guy's help, but one last question: What would I need for a mounting adapter to get the cooler on the motherboard?
  5. Alrighty. PCpart picker says it'll likely need an adapter, but I'm really not sure where to look. I'm also feeling a bit lost when it comes to wireless networking. I can't really get Ethernet all the way from my router to where the pc will be living.
  6. Could I afford to get one of these for cooling? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/hmtCmG/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr212e20pkr2
  7. Oh yeah I'm dumb. I guess that the single 1 tb SSD should work.
  8. I do like the list, But i would likely want a 500 Gb SSD to store windows and bios (just to give room to expand) then a HHD for games and schoolwork files. Any parts you would reccomend?
  9. Can I ask why? I really want to learn more about planning computers, so I feel like walking through how I can either fix it or go about creating a better list. I want to know my system and why all the parts were chosen so that I can upgrade it in the future.
  10. So I see that NVIDIA and AMD are coming out with some really cool new cards, but from what I've seen on the price point it would put me about 1 to 2 hundred dollars overbudget. I also am only going to really be using this for casual gaming, school work, and some computer science stuff (mostly programming), so I don't think I need a super upgraded computer. Thanks for the list though, I will likely take a few parts from it. Should I be seeing price drops once those new chips are released?
  11. I'm not in too much of a rush, but I will be using this for school, as I plan that we will be going remote within 2 weeks because there was a student that has been in direct contact with at least 100 other students. I would likely want to start work in around a month to a month and a half.
  12. Would this make my build completely obsolete? I'm really only going to be using this for casual gaming, so I don't really think I need the fanciest parts, but are there any that I should be looking at?
  13. Forgot to delete one of them lol. I guess this is what that stage of planning is for.
  14. When does the 3070 come out and how much better/more expensive is it likely to be?
  15. Love the MB and SSD. My current ram sticks are DDR4 3600 and the MB doesn't mention that under memory speed. Should I look for a different set of RAM sticks?
