Hey guys I just upgraded to the i7 9700k and paired it with the Noctua Nh-D9l with 2 fans. The case is the Acer Aspire TC-865 which has an 8x10 perforated section for venting and I'm not running a case fan due to space and the double cpu fans. I used CPUID HWmonitor to check my temps and they seem to be on the hot side at around 42C idle and upper 70s lo 80s under gaming load with an EVGA 1660 super which had a temp read of 78 idle and 80s under load. I've read that 80 is still too high and my system temp should be under 40. I used 5 dots of thermal paste under the heatsink. Do I need more paste? Are my temps safe? please advise- big H
