There is a TON of spam in this thread, so I thought I'd do all the thread viewers a favour and bump the actual entries to this contest. Enjoy!

No. 😈
Why 9900K? The 10th generation is out (i5 10600k, i7 10700k, i9 10900k). Additionally, AMD will be launching their 4th gen Ryzen chips soon (October), so unless you can't wait, you probably should.
If you can't wait, then going with a 10600K or a 10700K would be a better choice over the older 9900K.

OK, so this is for all you who think themselves as forum members and have so far replied to this thread. Forum rules and guidelines still apply in this thread. Including derailing and personal attacks. There were couple posts removed where there were attacks in condescending manner.
This thread is for discussion about competition and answering questions related. I admit that my post might have caused some of the subsequent posts, but please try to keep in mind that not all Linus viewers are able to take harsh words as just little jokes.

I believe you! I call my PC Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, because I love it, but it needs a good 'cranking' to start up and she's spittin' fumes. xP

Facts.
I used Windows Video Editor and it took me a couple of hours to do 1 minute. Not to mention I had to export it 3 times because it kept not fully rendering random frames every time (see 0:44 second in my video, the first two exports it didn't render my face). If it was any longer I wouldn't be here, I'd be off in a corner crying LOL
Maybe I should've just kept this one, I look hot af

Dang, I saw the few other people who posted here.
They're quite good at editing! I'm still learning (using Kdenlive due to my $0 budget), so I appreciated the challenge of keeping it within a minute.
Edit: Not sure why people would make fun of someone struggling to make ends meet.
"Be excellent to each other!"

More details about helping the forum will be coming soon, although we are unlikely to be able to open source it so we will be limited to having a few people who are able to put in a reasonable amount of time rather than a lot of people who can just drop in and out.
We use an off the shelf forum software, Invision Community, with a bunch of ltt-specific customisations that are primarily what we are looking for help with. It's all written in PHP (unfortunately), using their custom framework, with mysql and elasticsearch for the DB. We run that on top of linux+nginx.

Hello all!
I'm brand new, fresh meat, both to this forum and to the web dev community at large. As of right now, I am continuing my learning on how to develop both websites and web apps, and what's brought me here is the latest WAN show.
I've heard Luke speak about the need for providing backup to this forum, and wanted to know more about what exactly is needed? While my plan is to learn and adapt as my career flourishes, I'd love to be focused on the stack that best assists this community in the short term. I know with respect to the Web Dev they're seeking for LTTstore.com, they want someone who has ReactJS experience, so I plan to learn more about that framework once I've completed my fundamentals training. Does this forum similarly use ReactJS? Would love to know more information on either!
Luke mentioned the screenname (and I'm sorry if I've misspelled it, friend!) 'Colonel Mortis' having to carry all the weight themselves, and I would love to learn more about the stack they use so I can start lending a hand as best I can (both for the love of LTT and for my own learning experience)!
I look forward to getting acquainted with my fellow devs, regardless of your experience level.
A toast to new opportunity! Cheers,
Dapper
