d4fty reacted to AlwaysFSX in FCC Chairman Ajit Pai Opposes White House Plan For Government Run 5G Network
To be fair, Pai is right. The government trying to do anything with infrastructure is a fucking disaster. And it'll end up costing tax payers more money than if you just let companies do it themselves.

I didn't think there were enough people in Montana that have internet for them to care.

d4fty reacted to dfsdfgfkjsefoiqzemnd in Potentially 15 year old macOS root access bug... yes, another one
That's what you get if you have a shitty bug bounty program that doesn't even cover your main OS.
At least it's out in the open now. Could have been worse, the code could have secretly been sold to 3-letter agencies and other cyber criminals and then nobody would have known until they lost control of the weaponized version, resulting in a Wannacry scenario for Mac.

d4fty reacted to mynameisjuan in Potentially 15 year old macOS root access bug... yes, another one
Be it Apple, Windows or Linux, it still blows my mind that people freak out over a single bug and call the company lazy or the devs bad. Like I dont give two shits how big it is, the fact that people think millions of lines of code can be combed through and verified to work flawlessly its ridiculous.

The irony on how a closed-source OS seems more friendly for devs.

d4fty reacted to iRileyx in Nintendo and Sandisk are teaming up to Price Gouge and take advantage of Nintendo Switch Customers
Sounds alot like the PS Vita SD cards that you had to buy if you wanted extra storage.
Kind of, anyway, I think the PS Vita SD cards were actually a different size/shape to regular SD cards.

d4fty reacted to vanished in DisplayMate: The iPhone X is the most innovative and high performance Smartphone display that we have ever tested.
Yes, thank you. And that's an excellent example actually: that touch bar is innovative. It's new and different and no one else (to my knowledge) has tried that before. You wouldn't say they "invented" that though... that word just doesn't fit. Creating the first lightbulb in the world is inventing the lightbulb. Using a lightbulb that flashes quickly to forever alter the world of photography is innovating. Making that same product a little brighter or a little faster is iterating.

1. Fix your formatting. It's absolutely horrendous.
2. That's a dev kit. Just because the dev kit has something does not mean that the real one will so please stop with the all caps click bait.

d4fty reacted to suicidalfranco in Office for Mac 2016 now supports Apple's latest gimmick
Bet 10$ that if it was the surface to come with the touch bar this thread would start like this:
Microsoft has announced that Office 2016 now supports the Surface latest feature, the Touch Bar
Good job MS. Amazing! Anyways, the Touch bar truly is the greatest MS invention ever.

Well they have to make money somehow. At least they are just adding new features rather than charging for ones that were previously free.

d4fty reacted to atrash in iPhone 7/7+ Verge Review
I may not get the phone myself (no point upgrading from 6S anyway) but I certainly won't call others idiot or retard for getting one themselves. It's their money, their choice... Why so salty if the phone is not for you? Not like it's the only phone in the market.. Plenty more to choose from the android side. No earphone jack? If they manage to get the iphone 7 still, then they'll adjust.
People these days...getting rages and salty for anything and everything.

d4fty reacted to SageOfSpice in First ever use of killer robots during Dallas Tragedy
Holy shit.
One guy managed to give law enforcement so hard of a time they had to resort to an untested and improvised solution?
I don't know what to think about that.
As per the whole subject of, "Killer robots" (Seriously? We're using click-bait titles in our news now?) I think the notion is idiotic. There are far more advanced killing robots out there than some police force strapping a breaching charge to a remote operated robot.

Post these on one of the 2 the 480 threads we already have. Getting tired of seeing 5 different threads about the 480 every 10 minutes, and kinda pointless when we already have ones discussing the implications that the power issue might cause, and tests with it, that have 20+ pages and 3+ pages respectively.
