  1. Thanks for the response. Looks like I'll just grab an SSD for now to grab it a bit of umph till next year when I can build something a better.
  2. Budget (including currency): ~$600 (for this year) or $1.5k (next for next year and depending on funds) Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Playing mainly LoL, CSGO, trying to get into the newer games and the ones I still have on steam lol, using a lot of statistical software like SAS for school/work Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing great. Atm I am trying to decide between reusing my old pc and throwing in a new GPU and SSD or just waiting another year or so to build an entirely new computer and just getting an SSD to keep my current pc going for a little longer. So a bit of backstory, I built my pc about 6 years ago and used it consistently for awhile until halfway through university when I had to stop so I could focus on the last years of my degree. Currently, its just been sitting gathering dust but some of the software I need for grad school only works on Windows so I want to reuse it. I also would like to get back into gaming, since I'm at home now and can do everything remotely so I have a lot more free time. Right now I'm debating between swapping in a new GPU/SSD/RAM for my current PC or just getting a new SSD for it till next year or the year after. I also need a new monitor and am hoping to get something that can work well with both my Macbook pro and PC (right now I'm thinking of something like a LG 27GL883A-B or ASUS TUF VG27AQ, but if you guys happen to have any better and cheaper suggestions I would really appreciate it) My current build is: i5 4670k 3.4 GHz Quad-Core MSI B85-G41 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 MB G.Skill Ripjaws (2x4GB) DDR3-1866 CL9 Memory EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Superclocked OCZ ZT 650 W80+ Bronze ATX Power Supply I am not sure what my build would like in the next year or two but for now this is what I was thinking of grabbing for my current build: Another 2x4GB of RAM or just swapping mine out for some 2x8GB Samsung 860 Evo 500 GB SSD Something like a 2070 or 3070 depending on the price (I'm not sure about compatibility with my current parts, I just plugged it all into PCPartPicker and it didn't bring anything up) Forgive me if what I suggested wouldn't work, its been a few years since I've really been in the PC world and have forgotten pretty much everything. Regardless, I would love to hear what you guys think and would really appreciate any advice.
