  1. SSD ADATA XPG Spectrix S40G 4 TB M.2 2280 PCI-E x4 Gen3 NVMe - drops out from system during mass read/write operations. Tested on different slots and 2 motherboards (Asus/Gigabyte). Disk used for Steam library and other games and photo storage, not bootable. Small file read/write operations and directory vewing performed without any problems. Any more serious usage - even only read operations (copying files from the disk) results in gradual slowing of transfer to Kbytes and later bytes per second and then disk dissapears from the system. After the reboot (sometimes two) disk is again visible in the BIOS and system. Firmware up to date. SMART data OK. Suprisingly CristalDiskMark speed tests perfromed flawlesly. EDIT: temperatures less than 50 Celsius Any ideas?
  2. Hi, I'm thinking of upgrading my gaming rig. Those my current specs: Motherboard: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS IX FORMULA Processor: i7-7700K Memory: HyperX Savage Black XMP 32GB Graphics Card: ASUS GTX 1070 STRIX OC 8GB GDDR5 Storage: SSD Samsung 1 TB M.2 2280 PCI-E x4 Gen3 NVMe used for games, SSD Samsung 500 GB M.2 2280 PCI-E x4 Gen3 NVMe used as a system disks, some other older SATA SSDs and HDs Power: Corsair HX850i 850W Monitor: LG UltraGear 38GL950G-B 3840x1600 Aim: Cyberpunk at 3840x1600 resolution, MS Flight, RDR2. Sporadic film editing, no 3D rendering etc. At least I need to upgrade storage and exchange 1 SSD for a bigger one as I have no more place for my games library. Do you think exchanging GTX 1070 for RTX 3080 will be enough? Will gen 3 PCIE hinder the performance? Will the i7-7700K be a bottleneck? Should I change whole motherboard for PCIE gen 4 and make a new build? Or maybe go gradually, buy new SSD and 3080 and see if it is enough? Budget is fluid, as always less money spent is better but I would like to enjoy my new LG 3840x1600 monitor. Thanks!
