  1. se ti servono altre info chiedi pure, screenshot e cose varie; ma io per operare ho bisogno di informazioni certe. Grazie
  2. Hi guys, a couple of months ago I created a new user within my W10 OS and wanted to prevent access to my two additional HDDs. Partly because of a lack of experience, partly operating in a hurry, even if I had a feeling I was not making the right moves, in the end I blocked the access to the first HDD D and now can't access anymore what can I do to reset this? someone linked me this guide but I wanted to be sure first, thanks
  3. ps: i kinda like the product you posted anyway: I hope I can ask you something more in the future about it
  4. thanks for your answer, but I have discovered that there's a specific command in the menu, it's called "move" https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2021/index.html#53548.html
  5. hi everyone, for the last months I've been using a single HDD unit as a storage and backup destination for my sensitive files. Basically I run a full version of Acronis True Image 2021 which performs periodic backups of certain folders from the SSD or the HDD onto the HDD itself. Now, since I never really liked this setup of one single HDD I recently bought a second one, so that now my plan is to use the first HDD just as a destination unit to save folders and files and the second HDD for backups only: it will be the destination for backup files. Hoping this configuration may be the right one (it seems like the most rational to me), my doubt would be: how do I move those backup files and folders from the original HDD to the new one? as you can see from the screenshot, periodic bakcups have occurred already and I would like to figure out a way to move them without losing what's already there (as you can see I use incremental backups) I guess it may be easier than I think but really I don't have all that time anymore in my daily life to experiment, to reaserch, to fiddle around or to figure out thanks
  6. it's a new idea of course. The point is: I have done all this, buying pc, hardware ecc to try and keep all this "professional" or at least "systematic": it would be very disappointing if everyday I had to transfer the clips from the pc to the smartphone in order to make the upload. It would be some additional work ..
  7. thanks very much for your answer: I didn't know about timer nor about this trick. the point is: suppose the upload takes more than I imagined: is there some way, some third party application, that checks for the upload in progress and ONLY if the upload is over shuts down the pc?? I guess no anyway.. thanks
  8. good morning guys, every night I use to upload my daily content to my YT channel, which amounts to approx 1 GB of video clips per day. Now, the upload completes around 3 am, while I am sleeping of course, and next morning I don't usually get to work before 9. So everyday I get some hours of unemployed running time which leads to wasted electricity, wasted system running and so on .. So my question, real simple, is: what can I do in order to shut down or put to sleep the pc after the uploads are complete? thanks
  9. dear forumers, first of all let me excuse with you if other (or many other) topics have already been posted on the same subject. I haven't found anything among the pinned posts so I thought I'd write something to explain my specific situation; which is very simple btw and will require hopefully no effort to be addressed from you experts. As you can see in my signature, I currently have a 500Gb ssd, which is filling up really fast, since I produce approximately 1Gb/day of video clips. I have bought an additional 4 Tb Wd CMR HDD (WD40EFRX) which I have mounted but not initialized yet and that I plan to use as a backup unit. along with the video clips: I need to backup other types of files as well: mostly documents, itunes folders and pictures of course. (I still have GDrives and Dropbox of course). Additionally I would like to produce periodical backups of windows 10 as well, those which are called system images if I understand correctly. Now, first things first: most of you are already typing something like: "hey, if that your usage you can't rely on one "small" hdd unit only: you need at least SIX of them with external NAS and ultra mega raid-what-the-heck-yeah" yeah: I simply don't have the money now. So that's what I have and that's what I need to deal with. So, if anyone wants to help me, help me with this. Now, the point is: I would like to have automatic backups. I have noticed -correct me if I am wrong- that Whatsapp performs some kind of incremental of differential backup, not just a simple full backup: I would like to have someting similar. I have no problem spending some money to buy a license for a designated software who does that, as long as it is effective and really autonomous. Then, in the end: I would like to understand which configuration would be better for my case: is it better to create multiple partitions or just one is good (like I hope)? so, to sum it up: - automatic periodic backups of specified folders; - manual backups of windows image from time to time; - all in one isk for the moment (I could buy an additional one in the future). is there a software for this? thanks
  10. ps I am choosing the pst variant because, if I am not getting it wrong, they can be mounted in sequence one another, without the need for additional cable splitters
  11. ok, I am persuaded about buying arctic fans, the p12 pwm pst in detail. there's still one doubt only: is it better for me to choose the P12 PWM PST or the P12 PWM PST CO? If you look at the tech specs the difference being the latter featuring a double bear bearing instead of a fluid dynamic bearing.. (and is called Continuous operation) now, I don't care about the duration over the years, I primarily care about the noise: My pc is almost always turned on 24/7, but fans will speed at a constant and low speed. Even if the fans should last some months or years less I don't care, all I care is that they are as silent as possible. price difference between the two models is really negligible thanks
  12. thanks both for your replies.. I like it it seems pretty well designed.. and what about the Coolink Swif2 120P? I've heard it's a noctua sub-brand? I wouldnt mind going for the arctic anyway
  13. dear forumers, as you can see from my build in the signature below I have a noctua cooler and a define mini c case. I like this build, but at the moment it's running with just two system fans: one for the front and one at the exhaust: they are of course the standard Fractal design fans that came included with the case: a pair of Fractal Design Dynamic X2 GP12 fan; while the cpu cooler mounts two Noctua NF-A12x25 which are very effective and silent of course but they cost a lot if bought separately. Now, I would like to complete my config mounting two additional fans at the front, but I don't love the idea of spending additional 60€ for two noctuas NF-A12x25. I thought: may be I can buy two additional Fractal Design Dynamic X2 GP12 like those who come stock, since they are not bad after all, but they still cost a lot even if they are 3 pins .. so, what brand or more exactly model do you suggest? I don't need pmw since they'll be spinning all the time at constant speed. I need two not-expensive 120mm fans quite silent: is that possibile? thanks
  14. thanks very much for both your answers.. so in the end: which one do you think is better between the mobos? not just on paper but based on real experience in case thanks
  15. ah ok, so you mean that I connect the splitter Y cable to the cpu-fan connector and then connect two fans instead of one .. and what about system fans if I want to install more than one? can I do the same thing? will i need additional power though? thanks
  16. hello everyone guys, as by the title and as you can see from my signature, I have a MSI b450m pro vdh max motherboard which features x1 cpu-cooler-fan connector (4 pins, where the amd wraith cooler is currently connected) and 2 system fans (4 pins as well). Now, the point is: I have bought a cpu-cooler with 2 fans on it and at the same time a AsRock B450M Pro4 which has two cpu-fan connectors and 3 system fans connectors. Now, I am not very sure about switching from the MSI one to the AsRock, even if it looks better on paper. So my question is: if I keep the Msi can I use a sort of fan-hub to connect two cpu fans instead of one??? How do I do that? I have noticed that several fan hub require that you connect a cpu fan first:in conclusion: I really didn't understand how they work and if I can do that thanks
  17. now, let me go on with the second part of the story: a fellow italian forumer suggested that I disabled all the boot options in the BOIS boot menu except for the first one, the windows boot manager of course. In his idea this would reduce the splash time which, as you may have noticed from the clip, is approximately 15 seconds. I did as he suggested but nothing changed: it always takes at least 15 seconds from the power up to the splash screen with the logo of the MB now, the slow splash time may not be a serious issue for me: I could even accept it if it defines as a peculiarity -although upsetting- of the product. The problem is: what will I do if the blank screen problem turns up again in the future? I can still switch my Mb with a different one now, I could even switch to an Intel - based system if they perform better, but I need to make this decision as soon as possibile: I am spending time searching these issues instead of getting down to work.. I may also have made the wrong choice in terms of ram memory (I see that my particular model is not shown on the mb compatibility official page) but I don't think that's the real reason..
  18. hi, thanks for the reply. No, I didnt try any CMOS clear and windows was installed via usb key on a brand new untouched ssd. The usb key was prepared with the official media creation tool from microsoft the day before the pc arrived, and of course I guess the SO was updated to the latest version
  19. Hello Everyone, this is my first post here: I hope I'll make my self clear and provide all the information needed in order to get some help. This is my case: a week ago I bought this build. Now, why did I choose that particular MB among all the alternatives? I needed a native vga output for my 19" 1280*1024 lcd screen in the first place, and I didn't want to rely on any HDMI-VGA or DVI-VGA adapter. Secondly, I was flattered by the idea of some vrm coolers and, most importantly, 4 ram slots instead of two sounded good for better -and cheaper- future upgradability. Putting all this together, and keeping in mind that I buy on Amzn Italy (which has may be a smaller range of alternatives compared to other markets or marketplaces) this seemed like a good choice to me. And I still think it is. Only with some issues. 1. Fast startup disabled in order to correctly detect screen During the first launches the display automatically switched to 800*600 px resolution, and if forced to its optimal settings 1280*1024 it went blank. Even with my little knowledge I thought it was a driver issue so I went on and installed the amd radeon software: not the latest one though (Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.9.1 Optional), but, as you can see from the page, the one provided by the auto-detect and install software (Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.4.2 Recommended (WHQL)). After that, the resolution issue was gone and I could easily work at 1280*1024.. or so I thought.. When the computer was turned on in fact, the display went black at the MB's splash screen and turned off while the pc kept on with the boot: of course you couldn't see anything because the screen was blank so I had to reboot manually from the front panel switch. Following the advice of some other forumers, I swtiched off the fast startup setting in W10 and this particular issue was gone: it always boots correctly now and the display is always detected. I still don't understand the reason for this though.. Let's move on with the second issue now: the slow spash screen time. I understand it's a quite common problem but I really don't like it on a new piece of hardware.. let me provide you with some high quality video footage while I write the second part of the story https://imgur.com/a/ygjAjgq
