  1. i can now confirm that it is only this machine that is slow form these ports. I have now tried 3 other machines and all give consistent download speed of 300 megabits per second or more.
  2. from this ethernet port i havent tried any other machines as of yet. I have two ethernet ports in my room and the problem persists whether or not i switch between the two. I might struggle to try another machine on these ports but i will give it a go and update you.
  3. i have reset both my modem and my router, yes.
  4. thanks for that, i have tried downloading a driver update of nvidia's site and the download speed it displays is 1.2MB/s
  5. hi there, im quite ill-versed with this kind of stuff and was wondering if anyone could help me. I have small home that seems to be working fine for the most part. I average speeds of around 350 megabits per second. This is consistent for almost all machines except my own. I have switched my cables and tried other stuff but for some reason my download stays at around 10 megabits per second which is problematic. This measurement is based purely on online speedtests and most of them agree with that value with the exception of speedtest.net which reads closer to what it was at 350 megabits per second. I cant identify what has caused this drop or why speedtest.net displays what i expect, but for almost all applications my download is 1.2 megabytes per second and it feels far too slow considering what i had just a week back.
  6. these two images show gpu some stats when running unigine. Something weird i noticed was that when i went onto another application and then maximised this again, it would temporarily stabilise (1-3seconds) and behave like you would expect. If you look at gpu 1 usage you will see a few points of extended max. These longer maxima are the maximising of the window. if you look at the last quarter, you will see one extended maxima and then jagged hell. This was the point where I maximised, left running, then closed. Hopefully this will help you interpret the images.
  7. So i have been having trouble with my graphics card and have opened a few threads already regarding it. It is a RTX 2060 mobile and it is not performing well. I have pretty much tried everything at this point and have made a few conclusions. - the graphics performance is weak and is not being improved - each time you do a fresh install of drivers the card performs normally for about 6 seconds of use before it reverts back to dodgy state - the drops i am talking about are not small drops but drops from 140fps in Unigine Heaven Benchmark to 12-21 fps - while in dodgy state it averages 2500-3000 in firestrike - dodgy state refers to the gpu's behaviour shown below when underload - dodgy state has not been observed once when doing a kombustor stress test, although fps is around 42 with x16 tesselation at 720p resolution I can attach more stuff if needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated
  8. I am not sure what action of mine caused this but my gpu seems to perform fine in certain applications now. What i mean by this is that i am now getting a score of 6000+ in timespy consistently which is what you would expect of this card. However, its performance in firestrike is still abominable; around 2500-3000, and that has remained fully unchanged. The big difference between them is directx version i think, so i tried some games using dx11 and dx12 and it behaved in a similar way, where dx12 games performed seamlessly and dx11 games performed like absolute garbage. I dont know what is causing this large difference, but considering many games still use dx11 i would like to get it sorted and any information would be appreciated.
  9. i have pretty much closed this thread. Also what you said is pretty inaccurate; of course it will use the gpu or nothing would display. That aside, the "even after" was there to imply i had tried it with both the intel cpu disabled and enabled, so i am pretty sure that's not the issue, since it yielded no results. Thanks for your help regardless.
  10. Searched this up and there seems to be no correlation between this and the cards bad performance
  11. Something i noticed. Pictures top to bottom are task manager during combined, physics, graphics 2, and graphics 1 firestrike benchmarks. dedicated memory was never being fully utilised as you can see. I feel as if this may be the root of the issue. It was highest during graphics 1 but remained constant at the value shown in the images for the entire duration of the test.
  12. My windows power settings are telling it to use the 2060. Temps are around 63 degrees celsius.
  13. yes i believe it is running on my dedicated gpu. Task manager says NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060.
  14. im running a rtx 2060 mobile in a msi gs75 stealth laptop. Ideally i didnt want a laptop but it is convenient. The problem is that the card is severely underperforming. (intel HD graphics levels) I have run a few benchmarks. - cinebench- i7 8750h got a score of 2104 - 3D mark firestrike - overall 2701 - graphics 2791 - physics 12192 - combined 1121 (3D mark says an overall score of around 13000 is normal for a laptop of my type) (i also can run most 3D mark benchmarks if requested) As you can see something is pretty wrong here. I cant identify what however. I have tried a variety of online methods to no avail and am willing to follow pretty much any steps to get this working as intended. Somethings that are noteworthy: (i disabled intel hd graphics to make sure it wasnt them, and it resulted in no change in performance.) (my cpu seems to be working fine and i think xmp 2.0 is the default state for ram in my laptop bios) (overclocking gpu yields little to no result) (thermals on gpu never really exceed 75 degrees celsius) (when referencing my task manager, my gpu usage spikes from 100 to almost 0 percent which usually correlates with even further frame drops and a small spike of like 7 percent higher in cpu usage. Not sure if that means anything) Any help would be greatly appreciated and, I hope, will someday be relevant to another who has had my issues. System specification - CPU - intel core i7 8750 h - GPU - rtx 2060 mobile - Storage - 1x Samsung 960 Evo NVMe PCIe M.2 250GB and 1x WD Blue SN550 NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB - RAM - Hynix HMA41GS6AFR8N-TF 2x8GB (-TF means its clock speed is 2133) - OS - windows 10 - Graphics Driver - GeForce Game Ready driver version 456.38 Let me know if you need anymore information. Image shows task manager during a time spy graphics 2 benchmark.
  15. Yh that is what I thought, but even after disabling the Intel one this is the result. The performance is absolutely rubbish on the card unless I limit CPU. It's prolly obvious that it falls well out of that ten percent margin. That is the reason I started this thread.
