  1. The only game I've been unable to run is Far Cry Primal. If you prefer the linux desktop experience to windows, I'd say the small amount of hassle is worth it. Most games "just work", either native/proton or through Wine Steam in Lutris. I was pretty worried that I'd have issues with a ton of things, but it's been so problem free for me.
  2. Are the folders MB size or GB size? My school provides onedrive, and it works really well for my purposes (documents).
  3. Always only have one drive connected while installing Windows. It does whatever it wants, like installing the bootloader on a seperate drive. Better safe than sorry.
  4. Manjaro has worked great for games for me. Mint had some weird things last I tried it (can't turn off mouse accel, only turn it down). Try getting a few USB sticks, putting some different distros on them, and seeing what seems most suited for you, then stick to that.
  5. Depends on how you use your PC. Windows is kinda bad for shortcuts and productivity, but general use is probably more beginner friendly than most things. Case sensitivity can be unintuitive for first time users on linux, for example.
  6. Yep. Where are you downloading them from? Don't have much experience with AMD sadly.
  7. If you can save some money by going 24", do that. Alienware one seems overpriced to me (finding ones at 40% of the price), maybe BenQ or ASUS?
  8. It should give you menu to choose both as 7ge says. What order did you install the OSes in? Windows is notorious for fucking with random things while installing, like installing the bootloader on the wrong drive.
  9. You know your setup best. I'm around... 25 cm? from my monitor and it can take up most of my vision, but I see all of it, and my desk too. 24" is plenty big, you don't need bigger. It's just nice.
  10. You need the right cable for the bandwidth with HDCP, what version of DP is your monitor and cable? The 2060 should be the latest.
  11. Just went from 1080p@144, 24" to 1440p@144, 27". Loving the increased space, much easier to focus on the game. I think the rest is preference, but desktop use is sooo much better imo. For the curve, I'd recommend trying flat and curved side by side. Probably can't do that right now though.
  12. If you have previously had a different dedicated GPU (slot in card), try running the DDU utility. It more fully gets rid of old drivers. https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html It looks a little daunting, but follow the instructions carefully and you should be done in under 10 mins.
