Buyers of the LTT water bottle, do you regret it?
Mn3m3nth replied to GetacFanboy's topic in General Discussion
I have a burning question (not that sort of burning... but I digress), just what does cancer taste like and how would you know this? -
In some cases (no pun intended) good air coolers can outperform AIO's, your case will only fit a 120mm rad I believe at the back of the case, unless those drive cages at the front are removable where you might fit a 240. Good air coolers are expensive though and a 120mm AIO will probably do the job for cheaper, ymmv

THIS!! It's almost like emosun thinks people in warmer countries can't use computers... Guess I'm just imagining the PC I have in my house in Portugal working with no issues in the summer... (or my brothers PC in Thailand that has to cope with the humidity as well as MUCH higher temps than 35C)
-
Then you might want to try flipping them around, although not common some cases and coolers work better with one intake and two exhausts. Only way to find out is to test.
-
Sorry push pull refers to the case fan configuration. You need to make sure that the front two are intakes with the rear exhausting (or vice versa), and then test your thermals again.
-
I don't know where you get the idea that 35C is particularly hot, it's not. If it was you wouldn't be able to use a PC in any "warmer" country without exotic cooling. Coolers work with a delta above ambient, 20deg+ is bad, it has nothing to do with the starting ambient temperature, that's why it's a delta. However yes a new cooler will almost definitely fix it as it sounds like the current one is faulty or just isn't up to the job.
-
Idle temps of 20+ degrees over ambient are terrible, the Hyper 212 is a budget cooler but it's one of the better budget ones. Have you checked to make sure your fans are properly installed in a push-pull configuration? You wouldn't be the first person to think they were only to find out they were all exhausting or vice versa... Definitely NOT speaking from experience there... nope definitely not... AIO's are also of course always good options if you have the budget and the space in your case.
-
Or you could actually check that your cooler is working properly first... Remove it, clean of any thermal paste from the CPU and the cold plate, apply some new paste, re-attach your cooler and make sure it's making good contact at a decent pressure. Even an air cooler should keep your CPU below 95C under most work loads if it's fitted properly and isn't just the crappy stock one that came with the CPU and you're running stock. Edit for last reply: Idle temps of 55-68C definitely leads me to think your cooler either isn't making proper contact or your thermal paste has dried up and hardened.

Pc freezing at random times, no idea what to do
Mn3m3nth replied to DavesADV's topic in Troubleshooting
If it had been just a freeze I would agree with you, however "freeze completely, pull up a random solid color and make a consistent buzzing noise until I do a hard reset" is not indicative of a faulty HDD (SSD yes possibly, HDD no). I'm not trying to get in to an argument as it's very difficult as I'm sure you're aware to diagnose something on an internet forum with varying levels of knowledge and experience, that's why I prefer to give troubleshooting steps to follow rather than blanket statements of "it's this" (which I know you didn't do), I've found over the years that once someone gets it in their mind that it's a particular thing causing their issue that you can't budge them from it no matter what proof you give. Hopefully the OP will try all suggestions and come back and let us know what the problem was, hopefully without having to spend too much money -
YouTube is getting annoying with ads
Mn3m3nth replied to pm128's topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
Thing is I actually kind of don't mind the pre-roll ads, the way I figure it if it means the channels I watch can keep going then it's worth 30 seconds. The problem I have is the constant barrage of ads inside a ten minute video that interrupt the flow of what you're trying to watch. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't need to find a decent adblocker for YT. -

What do you use to block them on desktop? All the extensions I've tried do Jack. Mobile is easy just get Vanced but I purposely don't watch anything YT on my PC as the ads are just too intrusive now. -
Blue screening and artifacts (graphics card?)
Mn3m3nth replied to thutzell13579's topic in Graphics Cards
Does it happen during POST or only while loading Windows/Linux/<insert other OS of choice here> ? -
Looking at that motherboard it will be set automatically to UEFI boot mode, you can either enter the BIOS and go to the EXIT page (see attached picture, I'm new to the forum haven't worked out how to embed images yet) You will see a boot override saying something like UEFI: <name of USB device> if the USB stick has been created correctly, if it has then you can click on it and it will boot from the stick. If you don't see that then your stick is either corrupt or needs recreating using unetbootin or the like. Edit: Looks like the images embed automatically, nice.

Oh that's without a doubt a failing GPU
