  1. https://www.hwinfo.com/ Check this utility out. And maybe https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ Run GPUZ anyways and screencap for us. It can sniff out if it's a fake GPU or not. I think HWInfo does it too.
  2. That driver version seems like its for Quadros and Tesla GPUs? What does GPUZ and HWInfo64 say about the card?
  3. I'm only saying what I think. If Psyonix has been struggling then, sure I'm admitting I'm that naïve. But pulling it off another distributor to be on theirs and simultaneously cutting off support for other platforms just makes it seem worse, and with a client and platform rushed and unfinished just doesn't seem right. The game was on Linux and Mac, now it's not. The other doings by Epic Games, like, limiting Borderlands 3 and Metro Exodus, I'm not sure if they said they wouldn't do it again but they still did. I don't have much trust in Epic Games, really.

So... I've been thinking, what's the oldest cap…

I'm limited to MXM-A for this unit.

Not just 4th gen desktop but mobile too. They're still capable imo. And I'm aware that dual MXM is possible, I've seen laptops with that capability. It's just that I've been looking for a system to do 4K 24fps on the move, and I've been piecing together a system to do that. So far, at least 4GB VRAM is enough for just splicing together 4K clips. The WX4150 I've tested, but it's not sufficient because of the fan control being the issue. Now I'm looking for an M2000M or M1200M for native fan control before I use it in the long run to have a better opinion of it. I currently use a Zbook 15 G2, btw. I didn't go 17 because of the backpack requirements.
  6. A little harsh. And a rather irrelevant old meme. The issue with Epic is their buyouts, as I like to see it as bribery. They use the bribery to get them off Steam, and stick with EGS because of their lower cuts. But what are they gaining from it? Do they have a store? Do they have their own servers? What does EGS provide that Steam doesn't? Why does Epic hate Steam? Because of their cuts? Make a storefront, and you gotta pay the rent somehow. Do it Epic's way: give them potentially less for a smaller cut, like a shed. Do it Steam's way: give them more for just a slightly bigger cut, and if they do well, lower the cut that they still earn just as enough as they started. Steam also gives you an apartment rather than an empty carcass of a shed. Steam's cut is not really theft. It's there for a reason. Epic is only able to do this because of the money they've generated from elsewhere. Steam doesn't buy out so many companies and force them to stay with them for good. I just don't agree with Epic's hatred for Steam, and I'd like to think of it this way: Epic gives you a shed. Steam gives you an an apartment because of the cut. That hatred doesn't just come out of the blue.
  7. "Minimum order quantity: 3". The dropdown only gave me 3. So, I rolled with it.
  8. 2 pairs of scissors and 3 Logitech B100s. I wanted one but Amazon had me needing to get 3 minimum for the mouse.
  9. Nice and all, but not exactly all platforms then if Steam isn't in the "all platforms", is it? Kind of leeching away Steam's game library. This sucks.
  10. So... I've been thinking, what's the oldest capable hardware capable of editing 4K video? Because so far I believe even a 4th gen i7 paired with a good GPU, can still handle it.

For a laptop, if you want something good, get either a K5100M or a 980M. Anything higher gets too expensive.

To no surprise to anyone, YouTube is still brok…

My question is: So what's new

  13. I'm curious: Does LMG/LTT still use their Panasonic Lumix GH4? And have they ever tried a Panasonic GH5?

  14. So I still haven't figured out a way to improve CS5.5 performance on a sort of modern machine, because NVidia changed the way the encoder works thus breaking a lot of legacy products. Meaning that Vegas Pro 10's Sony AVC rendering and my Adobe CS5.5's Mercury Playback Engine GPU acceleration doesn't work anymore. I kinda wanna see if I can get it working on a Kepler.

  15. As far as I'm aware the graphics is soldered, and so is the CPU. It's not easy, or feasible. What you can do is just connect a mouse, keyboard and monitor to it and leave it on a stand. That's the most you can do. I'd have suggested a eGPU but it doesn't have Thunderbolt 3.
  16. Okay those seem reasonable... Have you disassembled the unit at any point?
  17. It looks like graphics artifacting from a failing chip, but you say: Could be something loose that needs reseating. What are your temperatures like with the Acer Aspire One?
  18. You'll probably bust it. Find out what screw type goes in there with a maintenance manual if it's possible. You could then use that info to find the right standoffs you'd need to mount the board safely.
  19. Sits with GH4-EBK with 29min59sec recording in 8-bit 4096x2160. I'd love to own an URSA and the BMPCC. I wonder when we'll start seeing videos about these cameras.
  20. I might need to get a NAS for the household eventually... And maybe I should've backed up most of the stuff from this hard drive earlier than before... It's chugging at 5MB/s over USB 3.0....
