ChipioIndustries got a reaction from nastrogogi in Mounting an Optical Drive in the O11 Dynamic
Success! Nothing a pair of wirecutters, a couple pieces of paper, and a whole lot of electrical tape couldn't solve.

The drive cage has a couple brackets used to screw it to the case. I took them off of the cage and used them for the optical drive, which fits when the brackets are screwed in upside down. There's a small metal bar on the bottom of the bracket that prevents the tray from opening, so I snipped the bars off with a pair of wirecutters.

Next, I just had to attach the optical drive to the brackets. The holes to screw together didn't align at all, so I went with electrical tape instead. I used one piece that goes behind the drive from bracket to bracket to keep the drive from getting pushed back into the case, and then a couple winds around the brackets to essentially compress them into the drive. The optical drive was actually ever so slightly smaller than what was needed to align the brackets with the screw holes on the case, so I used a couple folded pieces of paper on either side as wedges.

It's not pretty or high-tech, but it works. I probably could've gotten a much less janky result if I'd drilled some holes in the brackets to attach them to the optical drive instead of relying on compression.

    Hi!
I was middle of my PC build preparation and I saw that post. I was worried a lot, but I was trusting more manufacturer information:
    1. Go check on Be Quiet site cooler compatibility. https://www.bequiet.com/en/motherboardcheck
    Conclusion: it fits
    2. You must install that cooler very very accurately. I my my solution the cooler touches gently to the GPU backplate (be aware that CPU is fully covered with heat plate). Also I discover that heat is transferring GPU backplate to CPU cooler. Its not problem in my build.
    Solution: it fits

    Hardware:
    MSI MEG X570 Godlike
    Ryzen 5950X
    DDR4 3600 MHz 64GB
    2x MSI 3090 Ventus OC + NVlink
3 NVMe drives, 1 SSD and 1 HDD. Total 16TB
    Bequiet 900 rev2 case
    Corsair 1600i PSU

    Why air cooling?!
My studio is middle of nowhere and i have sometimes long electricity losses. Outside temp can be -30 C (-22 F) and thats why I chose air cooling.

All things considered, keeping cards in stock for 30 minutes is pretty impressive compared to the typical blink-and-you-miss-it drops from retailers. I saw the video just a couple minutes after it went live, and then despite failing the test several times and somehow tripping the fraud alert at my bank, I managed to score a 3090. Thank for you your service 🙏

And good luck to the ones who are still looking to get a card, here's hoping the next drops are larger! A couple pro tips:

    * either turn notifications on or just constantly refresh your YouTube Subscriptions page from 10 to 11 AM (it's kept more up to date than the individual channel page and is faster than notification rollout, which isn't instantaneous)
    * scrub through the video for an announcement, that could save you a couple minutes (and I personally always watch at x2 speed)
    * for the quiz, focus on accuracy over speed. This is easily where I lost the most time, because I kept making dumb mistakes and having to restart.
    * maybe log onto your bank website just in case to handle any problems that may arise.
    * the last two letters of the Konami Code are, for this program, B and A. Apparently people just forgot that it's supposed to end with "Start."

Dunno how much things will be changed for the next drop, so some of these points may be somewhat invalid.

I guess I'll pop in here since it seems no one else has cared to confirm things, I managed to get a 3070 from this. I am not doing so with any ill-intention, but just to confirm that from my perspective VAG did work, which was basically just that bots didn't get them.

I've been watching LTT daily for about 6+ years (first video was his review of the Schiit Magni+Modi). I've been wanting to upgrade my GPU and CPU for a while now because I'm a DevOps engineer and have been wanting a better space to run Machine Learning workloads in my Kubernetes Cluster (and of course game on it).

I happen to work from home, but was actually working just like all of you. I had my subscription tab open on YouTube (and have had for the last 3 weeks), saw the video, and because I watch YT at 2x speed, likely got to the section faster than most. Video was up at 10:40 PST, I finished quiz at 10:49, at 10:51 it finally passed the check and I was able to purchase. I didn't use google, and nearly failed myself on the easiest question of the batch. I'm grateful and won't be participating in future rounds to be fair. That is all.

@Jurrunio I went ahead and flipped the cooler and the top plate, but there was basically no change. It's symmetrical.

Holy moly, you scared me for a second there.
    The MSi X570 Godlike has a total of 4x PCI-E X16 slots....last very bottom (4th slot) being PCI-E 4.0 X4 from the chipset.

It breaks down the CPU's as such (possible configurations)
Excluding the bottom 4th slot, since it's coming from the X570 chipset.
     16x -- 0x -- 0x 8x -- 0x -- 8x 8x -- 4x -- 4x
@ChipioIndustries you want to use the THIRD slot from the top.

    @Jurrunio Be my guest, lol.

I guess I'll just stick with the second slot down if there's not much of a performance hit, as @Moonzy and @Kilrah suggested.
