  1. Yeah, from the review I saw the Sony X90J needs an upcoming firmware update for VRR. Rtings.com seems to be the most reliable for what features stuff actually has - HDMI2.1 implementation last year seemed really inconsistent and often partial.
  2. I'd like to get a 50-55" TV in the US with HDMI 2.1, 4k 120Hz, and variable refresh rate sometime within the next few months, with a soft budget of $1000 (I could spend more if it's the only way to get a decent option, but would prefer not to). Use case is Xbox Series X and TV and movies - smart TV features don't matter as I just use all the apps through the XBox. 50" is ideal for the space I have, though 55" can fit if there isn't a 50" model. Anything bigger won't. The new Sony X90J makes it seem like an LG CX is a better value if I'm going to go over budget, though the X85J might be nearer to my price point. Full HDMI 2.1 support is the most important feature for me - I feel like with what I've seen about picture quality, almost anything reasonable on the market is going to be better than what I have (2016 50" Vizio M-Series that has had a few backlights burnt out for almost three years so noticeable dim spots). I know that other than Sony's line up, it's mostly just rumors at this point, but are there any 2020 TVs worth getting on sale for <$1000 (the LG Nano85 or 90? Last year's Sony?) rather than getting a 2021 model at list price (I probably don't want to wait until late in the year for sales)?
  3. Microsoft site kept having errors on their end as I tried to check out from 11 to 11:30ish. After that, I got kicked back to my cart and couldn't get any further as it was sold out. Never actually managed to see it available for preorder anywhere else. Thought I had lucked out with an early lunch at work today, usually I wouldn't have been even able to check until 1230.
  4. My biggest question with the level of improvement is the frame rate - how many games will actually be at 4k 120Hz without dropping detail (given that HDMI 2.1 is not a common feature and is rather high end right now)? And how early in the generation will that occur?
