  1. oh okay then, i'll try some stuff first before i downgrade to windows 7, i don't have any other hdds so i have to use the hard drive im using now, i'll come back when i get some results
  2. i have tried amd overdrive to try and overclock my cpu but it gave an error, don't know which error it was, im on a windows 8.1 x64 but i could try and install windows 7 on a virtual machine, does it matter if i install it on a virtual machine or do i need to install it on my actual hdd?
  3. not really, i can search for some other softwares that can see cpu specs, for now this is the most information i could gather from my cpu with cpu-z: https://valid.x86.fr/rll91z
  4. alright, i changed it to 210 mhz again and increased a little bit of the pci clock from 100mhz to 105mhz, nothing changed on cpu-z but strangely enough, when i go back to the bios, the cpu frequency and pci clock doesn't reset back to default but stays on the value that i changed it to. i already have the latest bios update so i don't know whats preventing the cpu frequency from changing
  5. hi there, so i wanted to overclock my cpu for the first time in my life, i have a pretty old bios from the 2009's, and when i went to the submenu that's supposed to change the cpu speed and stuff (which is the "Performance Booster Zone" for me) there was only these options: (its supposed to be blue and white but i took this from a bios manual so yeah) i tried to change the cpu frequency but the cpu speed did not change. my motherboard is a M61PB-M2S and im trying to overclock a AMD Phenom X4 9600 Black Edition.
  6. i opened a bunch of tabs (kind of a pc benchmark) and cpu had some trouble there but no lag:
  7. and also there's no lag right now. system is running fine. my games run with no lag at all, that's of course if memory doesn't hit 99% which pagefile gets used but that usually doesnt happen
  8. there's malwarebytes service running and alot of chrome tabs like 15 tabs and its 74%
  9. well i guess i could try doing what bad5ector said about diskpart. ill first run a malwarebytes check in my computer
  10. the memory cannot be the issue, there might be a virus in my hard drive but i know its not the memory, because i had 3gb of memory and my pc never started slow or had a issue like that.
