I am losing my mind over the new Topping PA5 stereo power amp (for speakers). The measurements are amazing, and the price is only $350. This is a game changer. The noise performance is only beaten by a $3000 Benchmark amp. It has enough power for almost everyone, even people listening at very loud volumes in midfield. This is what rigorous engineering and scientific thinking gets us. Got a Neumann KH80 in for testing. Self noise seems satisfactorily low. Pretty crazy how much smaller it is compared to Rokit 6 g2 I have. Smaller size means I have to elevate it with more yoga blocks though. Somehow immune to my computer's ground loops. Bass is less present and somewhere from midrange to highs are boosted in comparison to the Rokits. Measurements say Neumann is neutral so I've just been used to the old g2 Rokit house sound.
It's a crazy world out there. -

Already mentioned by 5 others so I am simply echoing their sentiments: Is it possible to test Displayport? Level1techs had a whole video about how some DP cables are causing all kinds of problems. He specifically mentioned how people tended to get good results from Club3d. Imo debunking audiophile snake oil is not as important right now. We have people struggling to get their gaming to work normally on DP and it's only going to get a lot worse when next gen DP is the norm. Also uh, somehow Monoprice has a dp2.0 cable for sale already. -
PC freeze and black screen no signal, since using new 4K monitor

The monitor is defective. On OcUK's thread, 36 people voted in a poll in their 27gp950 thread and over 50% reported the issue. You're not alone. This is the part where somebody posts the usual stuff... change DP cable, plug directly into wall, turn off power saving options, blah blah blah and none of them work. In my experience, the black screen problem only happens when Freesync or Gsync is on. One person replaced theirs via RMA and got the same problem. -
As far as I can tell it's stable. I've been using the monitor for 2 months now.

Anybody else getting issues with overclocking a monitor and DSR not functioning? DSR option disappears from Nvidia menu when I set my 27gp950 to 160hz OC mode (up from 144 native). I play a game at 144hz DSR and switch to 160hz via monitor OSD and the game graphically glitches a ton!

Seems like a pretty decent picture. The background is a little busy. I feel like it would be a little better if the animal was facing in a way that allows you to shoot with the background being really far away to make it a little less busy. I think the eyelashes of the animal is covering up a fair bit of the eye. I dunno if there was anything you could've done (I know very little about animal or telephoto photography, or animals in general but hey, I'm trying to follow the thread rules ). This is my first real attempt at a portrait. I am a beginner. This is on a5100, f1.4, 1/500 sec, 100 iso. Sigma 56mm f1.4 DN prime. Colors adjusted with Capture One's high contrast curve. Are the colors too contrasty? What do you think of the skin tones? I cropped out the very top of this image because you could see the top of my backyard's fence, and it was kind of jarring. I know the top of my shirt is clipping, so that could've been better. The wind kept blowing, but thankfully the wide aperture allowed me to shoot at such a fast shutter speed. My hair was a little messy from the wind but it almost makes the picture better I think. You can see CA at high contrast edge between the sleeve of my white tshirt and the background, but I dunno how to fix it. -
I'm thinking of trying dating sites instead. I'd make it clear I'm trans in the profile because I don't want to deal with people flipping out. For now I'd rather have too few interested people than too many. In limited polling I've seen, it seems bi people are more open to dating trans people, more so than gay people, more so than straight people. Of course, there are a lot more straight people than gay/bi people.

I think any shallower depth of field and the image is made worse. I want to see a bit of the background and make out what I'm seeing kindda. The subject is kind of boring. I guess it's done technically right, but I feel like artistically it's not that interesting, but I find it interesting for some reason. it's kindda the exact reverse of the title, but I can't read and I've already committed to posting this comment. I like pictures sometimes of chain link fences which transition from pretty sharp to blurry gradually. The radiators kind of remind me of that. And I love that bag in the background. Nice to add a dash of pink and chocolate to the image.

When I watch camera videos on Youtube and the person is a wedding photographer, I see all these beautiful pictures of the bride, the wedding dress, or the shoes and the bouquet, it makes me want to get married.
Maybe one day I can have that too. -

Mom came back to live with us for 2 years. Stress has increased due to that. She's an anti-trans conservative, but we also don't get along on many apolitical levels. Dropped a "friend" few days ago. Don't feel like having friends who think I'm delusional. Preparing for incoming recession. Going to ask for more hours to shore up net worth. It's a little trickier than that but not going to get into that right now.
