  1. Ok, It sounds like it should work. Il check it out later today but if anyone else wants to give more options to try in meanwhile ill leave this unsolved until I get time to test it out. Thanks for help
  2. Im not sure this going to help as its only supported on some games I believe. I think you are talking about that DSR option. I will give this a try but from what i know about it it just upscales the 1440p to a 4k (with magic)...but if the game is still "1440p" and I tab out or chance volume wont it do the same scaling problem. Pop to 4k in windows then when I tab back in pop back to "1440p"? I will test this out after work though to see what happens.
  3. Hello, Im new to having a monitor higher than 1080p...i know sad. Im pretty good at tweaking what little my PC can give, to get most out of it (always had a mid range gaming laptop...). So I have read so many things my head is spinning about downscaling and stuff. What I have been doing is setting my native display to 4k its an LG 27/28 inch 27UL500-w...I think (60hz) then I have been setting my ingame resolution at 1440p as I have a 2070 super and would like to get stable 60fps to max out monitor. But tabbing out or changing the volume (volume wheel on keyboard...changes volume in windows I believe not "ingame") in some games messes around as it changes back to 4k then back to in game 1440p. So I read that what you should do is set game also at 4k (native) then downscale ingame or with Nvidia setting somewhere to 1440p? I have seen these settings but I have never played with them. I believe its normally a % value. Am I right or just not understanding? If I am how much do I downscale from ingame 4k to ingame 1440p while keeping my native desktop at 4k obviously? I know from reading doing it wrong or something leads to blurry or artifact stuff? Not that it matter much as this is a settings problem. (specs Below) AMD 3700x 16 gig ram 3600mhz asus prime pro x570 EVGA 2070 super 1tb m.2 ssd pci 3 750 watt evga 4k its an LG 27/28 inch 27UL500-w...I think (60hz) Any suggestions would be great thanks.

  5. The prebuilt pc is called Asus G11CD and this is the motherboard i found. https://www.ebay.com/i/303671420213?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=303671420213&targetid=935431405813&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9010802&poi=&campaignid=10897989837&mkgroupid=106040609894&rlsatarget=pla-935431405813&abcId=9300403&merchantid=6296724&gclid=Cj0KCQjwy8f6BRC7ARIsAPIXOjhkgdGRJHaGxxP3lix6p2cZeLQsVG9-JTConGMD1fX_PRZYY4LyYdoaAq9bEALw_wcB Dont think that will help, like i said i cant seem to update the damn drivers. If im to use the motherboard HDMI...and i need to use the HDMI to use Dolby atmos or DTSx.
  6. dolby atmos doesn't over over optical...but at least it will be better than Bluetooth. I will look into that but i really want the atmos to work as well.
  7. yea but like i mentioned i want to use the dolby atmos or DTSx stuff...idont think you can use that with a normal aux...needs digital signal. I know that you cant even get that to work over the optical cables...and besides my soundbar only has 1xhdmi in...1xhdmi out/arc and 1xoptical port...and then bluetooth that works...but gives latency
  8. to clarify i cant update motherboard drivers...gpu is up to date. I tried going to ASUS for this PC specifically and even intel for the display driver for i think its a i76700 but still couldn't install the driver...says something like my hardware does not match or is incompatible. (but that should only be problem on the motherboard side)...I left trying to figure out the motherboard and then tried working through my 1070ti GPU. I figured there is 3 more unused ports...i should be able to push sound through one of them.
  9. its a prebuilt Asus thing. got it on a nice second hand deal the whole pc. Problem is i cant update the drivers for any of the things. So i think using the onboard hdmi is out...i did try it and also didnt work so im working through my GPU.
  10. you are right i am getting audio from monitor (it shows up on playback devices and its showing its putting out sound) but sound bar does not have an aux and i want to connect it via hdmi.
  11. I want to connect my sound bar to pc via hdmi cable to get access to extra speaker features.
  12. Yea my hand writing wont win any awards. So firstly my sound bar does not have a aux only the two HDMI and a optical port. I want to use a digital connection ie HDMI because i want to be able to use Dolby atmos or DTS:X which the speaker can only use that way. If i just wanted sound the Bluetooth is working with my pc even though there is a slight delay.
  13. Sorry I was just to lazy/frustrated to type all that nonsense again. See attachment...I used it to ask for help at a best buy...now I'm pulling out the heavy guns and asking here.
