  1. That's an extremely good price in Today's pc part climate. I would recommend you to pull the trigger on that sooner than later considering that RTX 3060s alone are going for around £600 pounds on eBay. That will probably be one of the best prices you'll get for a pc of that specs!
  2. This is how much the pc components should cost give or take with 2020 pc prices: PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tRzzcT CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor ($304.98 @ Newegg) CPU Cooler: MSI MAG CORE LIQUID 240R 78.73 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($107.29 @ Amazon) Motherboard: MSI B550-A PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard ($144.00 @ Amazon) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($91.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Team MS30 1 TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($87.99 @ Newegg) Case: NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case ($68.98 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Corsair CXM 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply ($84.99 @ Amazon) Custom: 3060 ti ($399.00) Total: $1289.22 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available The price given by the seller is at least 800 dollars over-priced. It's simply not worth it... even when you take into account how much more pc parts are costing nowadays. If you want to buy a pc now, I would reccomend buying a modern apu like the ryzen 5 4650g or ryzen 5 5650g from ebay which will give you decent graphical performance for a while while you wait for prices of gpus to drop significantly.
  3. Ok, I was wondering if it was a technical issue - I'll try and see if I can get a response from the EA offical forums.
  4. It's very typical of the cpu + gpu combo. 160 fps at 1440p in rainbow six siege. Hundreds of fps in minecraft. Over 60 at 1440p in GTA 5. I've tried reinstalling the game. I've tried adding a attachment to the user.cfg files within nfs heat as per this tutporial - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Need-for-speed-heat-crashing-and-high-cpu-usage/td-p/8422454 yet no improvement - I'm really stuck with it...
  5. The fps is stays the same no matter what I do to the settings even lowering resolution. I've put it down to 50% of 920p and the fps stays the same... Is that indicative of a CPU bottleneck? If so, what can I do to fix that in game?
  6. I got 32 gigs of ram, it's on a ssd and I have ethernet. I'll have chrome running in the background but nothing intensive.
  7. These are my settings but I still get low fps with these on...? Any ideas on anything to change?
  8. Hi I didn't know whether to put this here or in troubleshooting, so if this wrong can someone let me know thanks. I've been getting really low fps in Need For Speed Heat (it stays at about 12-16 fps constantly) on the lowest settings. Changing the graphics settings to Ultra doesn't make the fps worse for some reason. I can't tell what I'm doing wrong... My specs are i7-4790 cpu and GTX 1650. The recommended are i7-4790 and gtx 1060. I've tried reinstalling but I have not had any luck... Can anyone help me with this?
  9. I live in the UK, so I can't give any exact model but I can give you some headers. The best laptop cpus and gpus on the market right now are RTX 3000s (3060,3070,3080) and Ryzen 5000s series. However, RTX 3000s is hard to get your hands on and so is Ryzen 5000s. Some of the best laptops on the market that sport these CPU and GPU combinations are are therefore hard to find. This includes the 2021 Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (16' amd) which has good port selection and good price to performance. This also includes the 2021 Asus G14 and G15. The laptop your mentioned is still great however and it being available put's it a set up above the competition. You may want to consider the older RTX 2070 version of that laptop if you don't care about RTX performance. It will be give you very similar performance but by virtue of it being a generation old will be likely be cheaper. The i5 will smash your old laptop performance and perform as well in games as the i7 give or take. However, any video-editing, CAD or heavy lifting will massively benefit from the extra cores.
  10. Thanks for the reply and I'm sorry for wasting your time. The Wi-Fi dongle was juts a dud in this problem. I tried it on a laptop vs the laptop integrated Wi-Fi and it was a bloodbath. Anyways, I now have rejected Wi-Fi and returned to some trusty ethernet.
  11. thank you. I will be trying my 1650 that I have in my other pc.
  12. What country are you buying from? UK, USA or something else?
  13. Hi, I'm having problems with my WiFi on my desktop pc. I am using a dell precision 690 with a cheap tp-link wifi usb plugged in via usb 2 front headers. When running speedtest.net, I get very good speeds and ping results. (often about 150 mbps down and 50 up). While this is way less than what we pay for (1000mbps download) it is still very good for downloading large files. However, I have stuttering issues when I play videogames. Every 15 seconds I get around a 2-5 second complete stutter. I mainly play minectaft on mc.hypixel.net so I decided to use command line to try and diagnose my problem. I ran "ping mc.hypixel.net -t" to see if I was getting really low ping by that metric. And what I found was that, Every 10-15 seconds, my ping would jump from ~20ms to a number 100 times that or the request would just time out. I ran minecraft at the same time as "cmd ping mc.hypixel.net -t" and my stutters would happen without fail as the ping jumps I was recording in the command line. I have tried using a usb 3 pcie card but that nets me lower speeds for some reason. (Here is a screenshot from the cmd as you can see it has large slowdowns every 10 seconds. The average is about 100ms because of the massive ping jumps bringing it up) (I don't think I've doxed my ip in this screenshot but If I have can you let me know) Thanks to anyone who can help me understand this weird stuttering problem!
  14. Hi, I recently got gifted an old workstation pc. It is the dell precision 690 and has dual 4-core xeon e5345s, 16gbs of ram and 120gbs ssd. I'm trying to make this into a pc which I can play games like rainbow six siege, GTA 5, valorant and minecraft on and I don't mind lowering my resolution to 720p. All I want is a stable ~30 fps experience in gta and ~60 fps in rainbow six siege and valorant. The pc originally came with a old Nvidia Quadro 4000. I struggled to installed it's drivers so replaced it with a nvidia gt 620. The gt 620 is fine for Minecraft and performs okay with valorant but I want to play some more of the games on my list. The pcie version is 1.1. The pc has 6pin pcie power connectors for gpu. I've been looking at GPUs like the GTX 750 ti or GTX 960 2gb but I'm worried my CPUs will bottleneck. Any suggestions for GPUs would be greatly appreciated!
  15. I'm gonna check out those 7950s - I get most of my stuff used. Thanks for the reply!
