  1. OOOHH IT IS AN HDD WOW THAT EXPLAINS A LOT! Well on the other hand that is quite the bummer, do you think there is anything that I can do to fix it? If I can't that's ok, most of the save data is on the steam cloud anyway and anything else is on the main drive.
  2. The model number is STDR2000100 (a.k.a this one). I checked the warrant and it expired last year.
  3. Oh alright now now I understand better. And remember this is an external ssd so it's on the outside on the pc. I'm also not sure what to do about opening it up so I'll check the warrant.
  4. What do you mean by open it up? Open the pc or the ssd? And what do you mean by in a motherboard?
  5. For the past few years I have stored most of my steam game data on an external Seagate ssd, and earlier today it just disappeared from the drive list and it can't open steam because it can't find the drive. Up until this point I have had no major issues with this ssd and it appeared to run just fine. It also has never been very full, in fact it has never gone over 25% capacity. It's not showing up in the device manager, disk manager or the bios. Other things to note are, the led light on the drive is blinking, and reconnecting didn't work. Is there something I can do to fix it or is it just dead?
  6. I have two drives on my pc, one external and one internal ssd. The external one was working fine earlier today but now it's just gone. It's not showing up in the bios or device manager, but it is found on disk manager as "(Disk 0 partition 2)". Other things to note are -I'm using Windows 10. -I believe the drive could be the source of a ticking sound that's been there for the past few months, however I ignored it because it's an ssd. -The drive has 1.81 terabytes of space, but has never used more space than 25%. -The little light on the drive is still lit but it's dim. -The drive's status on device manger is "healthy (recovery partition)". -The drive was the D drive.
  7. I certainly would be willing to pay more if it will last longer. Problem is I've seen controllers like Xbox elite having sticking and drifting while still costing 150$.
  8. I'm looking for a new, good quality Xbox controller for Windows to replace one that I have. I don't care much about looks, all I really care about just that it will feel good in my hands and that it will LAST (or at least not break in a month or two). And I'm looking for a price of about 30-50$.
  9. Ohhhhh yeah I never disabled that after I reinstalled windows. Yeah ok I'll try that thanks.
  10. Well I know that the ssd is plugged to the power supply (which is fully-modular). It could be the sata port and later I will plug it into one of the others and see if to problem persists. Is it possible that the ssd in failing? I mean it appears to work just fine when it's running.
  11. Just about every other time I turn on my pc I get the "reboot and select proper boot device" message. To get around this I just force shutdown, turn off the power supply, turn it on again, hit the power button and boom and it boots into windows. Is there any way to fix this? Other things to note This pc boots from a ssd. I checked the bios once when this happened and it only recognized the external ssd I have. The cable that connects the ssd to the motherboard is new, but this problem still happened on the old cable.
  12. I just got a new pair of Crucial 8GB DDR3L-1600 UDIMM CT102464BD160B ram. I got it because it's the same model of ram my pc originally came with (it was a prebuilt). The only difference I can see between the new and old set of ram is the age, with the old set being about 5 years old. If I installed the new ram alongside the old ram would it preset any significant problems? My motherboard is a gigabyte h97m-d3h. It has dual channel ddr3 support and can run up to 32 gigs of ram.
