This happened for a few minutes yesterday, but today, it has been like this for a couple of hours now. Just after startup, my pc would not be able to do almost anything, not even a 'refresh' I then opened up the task manager, and found that an svchost was using up around 800k to 900k of memory[check screenshot_1]. I then right clicked on it and went to see which services come under this host. check screenshot_2 which i have uploaded to see the list. So i started to see which of the services was causing an issue, i disable a few, had to go to safe mode to do it, but it still kept on spiking the memory high. It also rendering my internet to be useless, its very slow now, and cant do a thing. I then found out that BITS[background intelligent transfer service] may be the cause of this problem. I found it by monitoring task manager just after startup and kept checking the services tab to see which one was causing the problem. It seems that BITS, as soon as it starts, there is an increase in cpu, but it cools down, but the memory stays up no matter what i try to do. I went to safemode again to disable it. After disabling BITS, i restart in normal mode, but then BITS startsup again and memory spikes again. I went into its properties and its startup is set to 'automatic[delayed]', which i remember setting to disable so that it doesnt start. I again went to safe mode to disable it, but its keeps on changing back to automatic delayed, and I am now stuck with doing nothing at all :( please help, asap Edit: I looked up, Bits client in the event logger, and its seems to be that its trying start a transfer job, but it fails, and it keeps on doing it again and again, in the last 10mins, it has created around 1500 entries in the event logger of the transfer job being started and also about them being failed. Maybe stopping this can help me, but I have no idea on what needs to be done

Hello, I am currently planning to run osx 10.8 mountain lion, the reason is that i want to test certain softwares that apple has to offer, which only work in an apple os. I want to see how these software works and test them so that I know which software i should invest in. I will primarily try to use logic pro, and compare it with other windows based DAWs. Anyways, I have an FX 8350, 8gb gskill ram, msi 760g, 1tb hd, gtx 550ti I tried to google, but it seems I have hit a wall. Found about hackintosh, but they only work with the intel architecture. And needs us to get a retail version of osx. As I said, i will test and then buy it. Now there is vmware workstation[or something similar, please suggest] which helps us run multiple os's, since I am new to vmware and the sorts, how can I go about running mountain lion on it? links are much appreciated. And if you can give some better alternative, please write about them. Thank you

thanks for the replies everyone, but it seems it started working fine automatically.. i wonder what had actually happened. But for now, its working good. I will make a note of the tips, incase something happens in the future

This started yesterday. I have wireless router/modem, it has a wireless switch, that helps me turn on/off the wireless connection. But for some reason, why I try to connect my devices[2 laptops, 1 android ICS] it doesn't give any internet access. So it does say, that it is connected to my modem, but it doesnt give any internet access. Wired[lan] connection is working fine, there is no problem over there. its a 150M Wireless N adsl2+ router. All the devices are about 3 to 5 feet away from the router. I did try to power off the router, waited around a min, and powered it back on. But still the same issue. It shows connected to the router, but no internet access, on all 3 devices. So what do you guys think maybe causing the issue?

why are going for a 3770? are you planning on doing any hyper threaded work? If this going to be built for gaming, than the 3570k will be the best for price:performance. you will also save some $$ which can help you get the gpu. If you can get the 7950, great!!, once you overclock it, it works like a beast. Go for the 660ti, if you are not much into overclocking. You can also get the non-k version of the 3570, if you are not planning to overclock. The ssd of 256gb will fill up quickly. I would suggest getting a 120/128gb ssd, and get a 1tb/1.5tb hdd. If you have the money, keep the 256gb ssd, but get a hdd for storage. ssd only improves the boot up time, and gives around 1 to 2 fps gain in games.

Nothing compared to the original most wanted. If i brake and turn, a drift initiates[hence need to control the car properly] Graphics was good, but the gameplay mechanics made it the worst nfs series ever, now i feel pro street, or RUN was better that this. Even though RUN didnt have customizing feature, but i thoughts it understandable as the the whole game is running around the run to the finish line, hence no point in customizing, just pick a car and run. Anyways, also whenever I am racing, even with one mistake, i will bump into a traffic car and crash, and explode, wtf I thought this wouldnt be the case in pursuits, but come on, and the way the heat level rises is insane. on each and every pursuit i would raise the heat level to the max, and be like, ok, how do i escape this. i would get caught, select another car, and race again. i got dissappointed eventually, and stopped playing. Currently, i still prefer NFS:World, good mechanics[map is a combo of orginal MW + carbon] and its an MMO, so multiplayer is no problem

Good selection my friend. And for a budget its better to go for the fx 8350 for multi threaded applications, helps a lot. As for the cooler, being low profile, i am not sure how low do you want. The only two coolers that i can think of right now are from noctuas: NH C14, and NH L12, also, check out the cooler master hyper 212 evo, considered good for its cooling features if they are still big, that for a closed loop water cooler, like the h80i/h100i/kraken x40 I currently have the fx 8350, and with the stock cooler, it really gets hot, plus, the stock cooler is way noisy[80mm fan running at 6k rpm]

Seriously? First of all, Linus never said that the keyboards that he has mentioned are silent or sound proof or low noise. They are good for typing. And if you have bought it recently, you could have at least asked in this forum or any other forum what you wanted in a keyboard and members would have helped you. If you are going to buy a mechanical keyboard, please familiarize yourself with the different color switches. And if you have a mechanical keyboard with blue switches, they are going to be loud.
