  1. I fixed the problem. After fiddling with RAM voltages and increasing the frequency of the crashing, I tried disabling smart access memory and XMP. Voila, stable. Bought new RAM 2x32 GB from TeamGroup (DDR4 3600), turned XMP and smart access memory back on. Best performance I've ever had and no crashing. Turns out wasn't an AMD thing at all.
  2. Bumping this thread since I have the same problem with MW3. 200 FPS then crash after 10 minutes of playing. There is apparently no solution. I can play other games for HOURS and never have a crash.
  3. hmm I only see this person which seems to be having the same trouble: Haven't tried it but will. Like the linked post I also had this error with my 3070 back when every PC player was getting it all the time. Problem is with my new AMD card it's way more frequent and the problem seems to have been fixed for everyone else.
  4. Hello everyone, I'm not sure where to go from here. I upgraded my primary rig last year: AMD 3700x --> AMD 5900x RTX 3070FE --> AMD 6950XT (AMD manufactured) EVGA 850W PSU --> Corsair 1000W PSU (was getting current overload so had to upgrade) I run games from a 2 TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD and have 64 GB of DDR3200 RAM with XMP profile and smart access memory enabled. I saw a noticeable improvement in performance with the upgrade but started getting regular crashes in the primary game that I play, Warzone 2.0. I also crash in Hell Let Loose and APEX. Simpler games like Rocket League seem fine and I have 0 issues just running Windows. The system is rock solid unless I'm playing games. In Warzone, the crash is towards the end of every single match. From what I can tell, my PC is not struggling at all. No heat issues, great performance. Then crash with DirectX error (Game_ship.exe). Troubleshooting so far: Remove driver enhancements / reduce graphics settings (no sharpening, native resolution, low settings) Update drivers Reinstall game DDU, Driver only, remove all overlays Reinstall Windows, latest drivers, game, no additional software whatsoever Memtest86 (pass) undervolted, overclocked, set everything to default Every game update and new driver I hope something will change, but alas the crashing persists. I've tried pretty much every suggestion for game_ship.exe in Warzone. There is nothing I can do to trigger the crash besides play a game and wait. Stress test (AMD built-in to Adrenaline software) passes, 3dMark passes. I need help troubleshooting and don't know where to go from here. Any suggestions are welcomed.
  5. I kind of wish they had offered 6900XT instead of 6950XT in the pre- Black Friday bundles on AMD website. Don't really need the extra heat and power for 2% more frames. Do you see temps over 90 in game? Even with my new fan setup it's still getting too hot according to the in-game monitor in MW2. I suspect it's looking at peak temp though. My 3070 never got too hot so I'm not really used to these super-hot cards. Considering writing AMD to ask what is expected.
  6. New PSU solved my problem. The 6950XT was drawing too much power, tripped the overcurrent protection on my 850 watt PSU. Nice thing about 6950XT (the AMD one) is that it's really short, so I could add a couple more intake fans. I'm push (with 120mm Noctua high pressure fans) pull (NZXY out-of-box 140mm fans) on the AIO. In games the 6950XT is still 80+, but never throttles. I went with the refurb PSU for $140. 90 day warranty isn't great, but I'm close to a microcenter and swapping for another is not too big of a deal if I need to. Thanks for your help!
  7. I have a microcenter near me so was going to get one of the 1000W from there. Options are: - Corsair HX1000 (Platinum) - $254 (link) - Ausus ROG STRIX 1000 (Gold) - $180 (link) - Corsair RM1000x (Gold) - $140 refurbished (link) - EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 GT (Gold) - $185 (link) Sort of thinking the Corsair RM1000x is best deal, but it's a refurb and I'm not sure how I feel about that. edit: Also since I have the room in the case (my AIO fans are mounted outside the front bracket) I'm going to toss the out-of-box NZXT cooling fans in a pull configuration on the radiator. That will get a little better airflow over the card. I could fry bacon on the thing.
  8. Me neither. I got it from this AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT Review | Temperatures and Power Draw | GPU & Displays | OC3D Review (overclock3d.net) Gamers Nexus saw more like 400 W. I didn't realize the 5900X drew so much. Thought I had 150 w overhead at least. Will report back after new PSU..
  9. Ok so Crysis Remastered (max settings) also crashed after the intro. I hear a click when it powers off. It is not rebooting but full power off like switching the PSU switch would do. This is the only indication it might be PSU related but I've never dealt with a faulty or underpowered PSU before. Looking at max power draw numbers... 5900X = 399 watts 6950XT = 493 watts + 60 watts for AIO, fans, RAM, etc. Maybe I really am maxing out the PSU?
  10. Case is Fractal Meshify C, side is open (right now), front-mounted AIO with Noctua high pressure fans. 1 rear exhaust, 2 top exhaust I need to download other games and check, but TimeSpy Extreme looped 20x and did not crash. GPU did not exceed 74 C. In COD MWII benchmark it goes straight to 100 C When I reinstalled the drivers, I selected "driver only" after removing everything with DDU and restarting PC.
  11. Hi everyone! Upgraded my super stable build and am immediately having problems. When I play MW2 I can get through a round or two, then the PC shuts off without warning. Upon boot it asks me for bitlocker recovery key, so I checked to see if BIOS was reset (default setting has vTPM off which bitlocker needs). After setting everything it boots just fine. Only crashing in game, resets the BIOS every time. System specs (old hardware in parenthesis) - AMD 5900X (3700X) - AMD 6950XT (RTX 3070) - 4x16 DDR4 3200 MHz - Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite WiFi - NZXT Kraken X63 280mm AIO - EVGA Gold 850 watt PSU Software - AMD Adrenaline (DDU NVidia drivers) - Latest AMD drivers - Win11 Pro - Battlenet client - COD MW2 BIOS - XMP = on - Smart Access Memory = on - auto everything else / no over clock The GPU is running hot as hell, like climbing from 79 - 100 in game. I’m not sure if that is causing the issue or normal behavior for 6950XT. I’ve never seen a crash reset bios like that either. Windows thinks it’s a hardware failure. So far I’ve made sure for the latest drivers, ran an undervolt, turned off any other software that might be over clocking it (NZXT CAM), stress test CPU, stress test GPU with Adrenaline. So far I suspect it’s a problem with the GPU or maybe PSU. I’ve never heard of crash that resets BIOS like that. My back of napkin calculations have me within limits of the 850w PSU, but I am happy to be wrong for a fix that doesn’t involve me RMA the card. I’m going to run 3D Mark and see if it can get through a few loops without dying. Guessing it will have same result as COD after a few minutes.
  12. Exactly what I was looking for! Will probably get the quietest of those thank you.
  13. Hi experts, I need good performing high static pressure 120mm case fans for use with a 280mm rad. Why? Because the 140mm fans it comes with don't fit in my case. This is for front-mounted radiator in push configuration. Requirements: - PWM - High Static Pressure - normal or smaller housing depth Nice to have but not required: - RGB/ARGB Cost does not matter too much. I only need 2. Thanks! Edit: Also will add these are behind the mesh on meshify C. So the fans themselves can be ugly (Noctua brown...) while RGB or halo lighting will show through nicecly.
  14. This is also a good point. In my case they are controlled by headers on the motherboard, not directly by the AIO. My plan right now is to return the ones I have and look for higher static pressure PWM fans (with RGB of course) to use on the rad. I don't think the fans I chose are the best value anyway.
  15. This is exactly what I was hoping. So I might be getting a little more noise but they work mostly the same. I'll have to look up some tests to see how the static pressure is. It only has airflow on the spec sheet. https://www.newegg.com/fractal-design-fd-fan-pri-al14-case-fan/p/N82E16835352055 edit: static pressure for ARGB fans is 1.07 mmH2O. The fans that come with the Kraken are 0.21 - 2.71mm H₂O. Can't tell if it's per fan or if that pressure is for both fans.
