  1. Hey i'd love to help you out here man. You say you want to run things on high settings and have a smooth experience, gotcha. So this kind of heavily depends on what games you'll be playing. I think you can pretty much have a fairly smooth experience in this budget. few questions 1)is your Monitor/ computer peripherals included in this budget or do you already have those? 2)Which games will you be playing? (Depending on what you get most of the triple AAA or fancy graphic games will have higher demands and you will not be able to have a smooth experience on them depending on your gpu) 3)Do you care about future upgrades/ want to leave room for upgrades in the build? 4)What kind of performance will you be expecting out of this build? Will you want to play any graphically demanding games that are coming out or any titles you're looking forward to playing? 5) Do you care about anything other than gaming with this build?
  2. I think you're misunderstanding me here. There is absolutely nothing against the law in hand-carrying electronics into the country at all and no one has ever gotten into trouble for that and it is fairly common practice for most people's relatives here to bring something from abroad whenever they go out. It only becomes questionable when it's being done in commercial quantities. I'm aware what taxes and tarrif's are. I don't think you're aware how incredibly messed up some sectors/systems in our country is in regards to corruption/taking advantage of people. http://download1.fbr.gov.pk/Docs/2018817158749999PakistanCustomTariff2018-19-CH1-99.pdf The customs for electronics is usually listed as low 3% in our Tariff documents however they charge a markup of over 100% . There are actually many discussions about this on other forums (one pakistan forum being pakgamers) a specific thread was addressed to this very conversation. https://pakgamers.com/index.php?threads/intl-shipping-links-border-customs-discussion.192314/page-24#post-2995074 this is an entire thread talking about the customs. Generally there is no concrete way of finding out what the exact cost will be as they use a system of googling, they don't even use the gift-method. Legal proceedings like this would take ages and essentially never get resolved so no one really ever bothers challenging their claims. (Our court system for you :') ) . With that being said i'm not asking for aid in anything illegal i just wish to get a graphics card lol. There's nothing illegal about that and even i'm not 100% certain about how the tarrif's in this country work and i'm not sure ANYONE is. edit: granted i don't fully understand the tarriff system and i'm not claiming to. All i'm saying is that what i'm going for isn't even bordering on illegality and is common practice. That and there is definitely somewhat of a lack of transparency when it comes to customs
  3. So i've never really bought a card directly from the site before. 699$ for the 3080 just seems too good of a price and the performance seems to be well worth it compared to the 20xx series. I'm looking to make the jump from my 1060 to a 3080 for 1440p and higher gaming. I was really excited! My original intention was to buy a 20xx series card( which are incredibly overpriced in my country). Most tech in my country is really overpriced due to import tax and stuff. (I question whether the import tax they charge is even legal but i feel as though our import sector is far too corrupt and looking to make a quick buck off people who can afford to buy things like this and there's really no one that can challenge that sector). Imports can charge upto even 200% of the item price when the item is right outside your doorstep and you've already paid for it. Prices are going to take a while to change even for the 20xx series in my country which still cost upwards of 1000$ for a 2080 super... and will continue to cost that way till the new cards start getting imported in. So i intend on just getting the card and having it hand-carried home or collecting it when i visit the states. ;__; Since this is my first time ordering from the nvidia site i also had a few questions. (i can't order directly to pakistan because import tax will rip me apart with a 1500-1600$+ charge for the 3080). I'm really looking forward to cyberpunk 2077 as well like you have no idea how much hype i have. As its looking rn i will not be able to have the card in my ownership till... december/january at the latest which is really disappointing considering i was JUST about to buy a 20xx on 5th september. But alas i'm hoping i can find some solution or a relative that's visiting from the US. Now to my questions. 1) It only gives me a option to deliver to the USA on nvidia website. Would it be possible for me to say send the card to London or something? (i have a few relatives coming over from London) 2) I'm big confused here. it takes me big brain energy to not instantly gratify myself with a 20xx series purchase but that would just be dumb at this point lol. Is there anything i can potentially do here? tired of living in a country where my currency is so devalued compared to the value of a $ and i still have to pay so much more money than regular consumers T_T. 3) What is the exact process of ordering from the nvidia website directly? Yeah that's basically it. I apologize if this wasn't the correct space to post this.... I did try to look around and wasn't able to find a suitable tag for this heading. Hey and this is the first forum i've used in ages! Seems to be fun here. Oh and if anyone is coming from the states to PAK between 17th-30th pls lemme kno kthx c:::
  4. Yo. I'm from Pakistan. Yeah not many people used tinder here anyway and most of the tinder stuff was filled with cat-fishes but like was used quite a bit amongst the university/college /middleclass crowd. Wasn't that bad honestly. Think the country just is taking pointers from china and they intend on passing a bill that basically allows them to check user social media as well pakistani internet is going fairly downhill in terms of censorship atm. Interesting to find a thread about Pakistan in the linus tech tips forums . Hella cool. I imagine sites like facebook will b like no we no give u access. and pakistan will b like we ban. A lot of people aren't really that backwards and there's a fairly large section of society that lives life ... pretty normally as if they're part of the 21st century, incredibly open minded. ... However our law and majority seems to remain fairly draconian in nature TT Yeah majority of smartphones are androids. I think they directly ban the servers or something. I remember that was the case with PUBG. It actually slows down our internet infrastructure quite a bit but apparently slowing down the entirety of the internet infrastructure is not as important as banning websites and being ranked highly on porn-usage per country statistics :')
  5. Thankyou !. This cleared up a lot of my confusion, Just one last question, on the picture i posted above. where do i plug in the end of the VDG cable? in the m/b in slot or the LED OUT slot?
  6. So I was trying to connect the thermaltake T20 Fans to my Mobo using the VDG Cable. Mobo is a b360m Aorus gaming 3 and seems to be supported. I plug in the VDG cable into the VDG slot along w/ the M/B-In slot and the other VDG into my Mobo VDG slot and turn it on. Then a puff of smoke o_o from the VDG cable i assume. turned everything off. Everything seems to be fine but i suspect the cable or the case rgb mobo might be fried but otherwise manual rgb still works fine. Now to my questions.. 1) Where do i plug the other end of the VDG cable on my case controller ? Does it go into the LED out slot or the M/B-In Slot?. 2) My mobo says something about the 5v and 12v LED slots using a jumper to control voltage and i'm not sure what that exactly means. Mobo is a b360m aorus gaming 3. 3) Does it matter which direction i install the VDG cable onto my mobo?
