  2. I’ve found a couple examples of the 4000mhz dominator performing good, if it’s compatible for zen 2 surely it’s as good at least or better for zen 3. I feel comfortable knowing that it will, at the very least, perform better than 3200/3600 once properly clocked. Now I just need to learn how to clock it lol although I suppose that could be a different venture with zen 3
  3. True but even if it’s higher than 4000 you’re talking about much much faster ram than most people have right? Well couldn’t I lower the speed and therefore increase the timings if it’s not the sweet spot? I mean this is a lot faster ram than most people get, almost 30%. It’s already 16, I wonder where I could get.
  4. X570 Aorus Xtreme PNY 3090 My plan is to get the 5900x, and I have all my other parts (case, fans, SSD, PSU) and I want to buy my RAM so all that I have left is the CPU. Would i be ok to pull the trigger on Corsair Dominator 4000mhz? What’s the worst case scenario?

The motherboard has one 2.0 header, do I need to buy an additional commander pro to daisy chain everything? Or just fan splitters for the commander core?
  6. I'm sure there are relatively straight forward guides on that. Do you have any you followed? Cool, thank you. Aesthetics, I like Corsair, in some ways this is a build 20 years in the making and I wanted a dominator kit 20 years ago. If I wanted pure efficiency and performance I'd look at getting a Viper kit most likely. All Corsair QL fans, Corsair dominator, and until the custom loop is planned out a Corsair AIO. Corsair keyboard and mouse too. At this point, the memory is selected, I'm just trying to see what's the best kit in this lineup I can get and start in the right direction of maximizing that. 7. Are you on a ryzen build? How did you manually set the timings for optimal performance?
  8. So question regarding that, will the PC boot or will I have issues and need to tweak in bios before hand? My intent is to watercool this system and it'll be my first overclocking experience but I want to get it up and running first. I was hoping the 4000mhz could be underclocked to tighten timings significantly OR that zen 3 will allow for higher IF clock speeds. win/win. Basically I want to tinker with it as I really enjoy that but I'm trying to secure parts first I know there are better kits for the money but I've selected the dominator for a few other reasons.
  9. I'm aware that Zen 3 isn't out yet, but I'm assuming that high end RAM compatible with 3950x will also work with the Zen 3 equivalent. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/wCsmP6/corsair-dominator-platinum-rgb-32-gb-4-x-8-gb-ddr4-4000-memory-cmt32gx4m4k4000c19 If this RAM isn't compatible, is this RAM? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/t8fhP6/corsair-dominator-platinum-rgb-32-gb-4-x-8-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-cmt32gx4m4k3600c16 Motherboard is X570 Gigabyte Aorus Xtreme https://pcpartpicker.com/product/TBmFf7/gigabyte-x570-aorus-xtreme-eatx-am4-motherboard-x570-aorus-xtreme
  10. I am confident I've seen people with ryzen builds running dominator ram, various timings. That's what I'm not following
  11. So you can only run Ryzen with those memory timings from Corsair? That doesn't make sense to me...
  12. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/DOMINATOR-PLATINUM-RGB/p/CMT32GX4M4K4000C19 I want to get this kit, I know that I may need to adjust timings (although I'm not sure how to do that yet). I've done preliminary reading about how Zen 2 can be picky with ram but it can always be underclocked plus timings tightened. I doubt that Zen 3 will do anything but improve this. Can someone point me in the right direction here?
  13. I know that generally 3200 or 3600 is accepted as top tier for gaming, but I have seen instances where games can benefit from up to 4000mhz. Can anyone enlighten me on the “best” kit, regardless of diminishing returns? I’m looking at getting Dominator 4000 at the moment.
  14. It depends when I sell my laptop. Can't really go without a PC, but I'd like to sell my laptop and buy this. Couldn't I swap to Zen 3 on a X570 board? Because that is an option. I'd only be annoying about swapping motherboards.
