  1. Hi everyone. I have a stereo amp with no subout. But I have one active sub. Is there a way that I can use the subout on my motherboard and connect my subwoofer there?...and the line out to my left and right? My goal is to "remove" the bass from the left and right and use the sub for that.... So effectively turning my PC into a receiver that can do a 2.1 type of set up where the line out can act as high pass filter? The Realtek app is pretty much useless. Can't get it to work. (all drivers are updated btw.)....Thanks in advance to anyone who can help
  2. Awesome. This is perfect. The problem with my old PC, aside from the latency issues, is that it just keeps crashing while using the DAW... Would a crashing DAW be because of core parking too? First time I ever heard that term but .. Now I know. Thanks man. Appreciate the software recommendation as well
  3. I am curious about how it can impact performance and perhaps I'll try it once. Or maybe I'm just attempting to do this for the wrong reason....that is "Because I had no choice but the K so I must do what it's been designed to do." Thanks for clarifying that it's a trial and error process. I thought there would be a cpu overclock or voltage "profile" like the XMP.
  4. That pretty much sums it up then. Thanks for being straight to the point.
  5. Hi everyone. I recently upgraded my 8 year old PC to an i7 8700k rig for music production and image editing. It's also a general purpose PC, but it's still a K Intel so it would be great to utilize that feature. With that... Can anyone recommend a particular overclock setting that I could just set and forget for the rest of the life of the computer? I guess constant stability, some performance enhancement and longevity are my main goals. Also, not sure if this affects the CPU overclock setting but I did enable my XMP since the default was 2133mhz and the 32gb Ripjaws I got were rated for 3200mhz. Due to the availability of parts from where I live, I can definitely say that this is a pretty unbalanced build. Here are the rest of the parts... Motherboard : Gigabyte z370m D3H PSU: Dark Power Pro 1200 watts GPU: Zotac GTX 770 running dual monitors (I don't use my PC for gaming, but I might try one game in the future... DCS) Storage: 1TB Samsung 360 EVO Cooler: Corsair h80i v2 That's about it. Thanks! (Sorry for the noob question, but I did try to Google as much as I can.. and the results were mostly about gaming performance and how to push it to 4.8 - 5GHz, which I think will just strain and eventually break the CPU before its intended lifespan )
