tkitch got a reaction from voyager_ in Handbrake doesnt use 100% of my CPU?
QSV = Quicksync, which is an Encoder chip on the iGPU of intel CPUs.
Everything is working as intended.

tkitch got a reaction from BoomerDutch in So my HDMI hub died a while ago and I still haven't gotten any solutions to my problems
you do a lot of not explaining the problem or setup. Also blurry camera is blurry as fuck.
Do you need a HDMI Switch to change inputs?
a Hub takes 1 signal and splits it to multiple displays. HDMI Hubs don't change what you're looking at to different targets.

tkitch got a reaction from MAXBattle in Best case for house with cat
don't leave it on the floor and it won't be that much of a concern.

tkitch got a reaction from MAXBattle in Best case for house with cat
it really does.
on a table will get a fraction of the dust as on the floor.

tkitch got a reaction from NorKris in Troubleshooting: RGB colors are not accurate
also different devices (sometimes even in the same brand) use different LEDs, so the color will be different.

just ignore it, 500mb isn't worth fighting partitioning about.

tkitch got a reaction from BiotechBen in cnc plasma pc case
If you go for a low enough power system, you could probably passively cool the whole box and avoid sucking in any dust / metal at all.
But it won't be easy.
How much CPU Horsepower do you need to drive the CNC?
Or, what about a fiberoptic cable, and putting the PC in the next room, safe from the metalshop chaos?

tkitch got a reaction from ErpatGaming11 in Should I buy SUPER IDENTICAL Ram Kit?
on DDR5 it's a waste of effort.
On DDR4, you can upgrade from 2 to 4 sticks for more capacity, but if you're buying RAM Fresh, just buy 2 bigger sticks.

"no consumer cpu's are"
None. Zero. Nada.

what case clearance do you have?
Generally right now the Peerless Assassin 120 SE is a go-to, due to it's super low cost and absurd performance.

tkitch got a reaction from Britishblue in Using a plex / jellyfin server to play my blu rays WITHOUT any ripping
it probably won't work due to the copy protection on blu ray.

tkitch got a reaction from Needfuldoer in Some LTT magic could be applied here.
Won't work on a CPU, due to not having nearly enough surface area to be productive.
That can had probably 8-10 CPUs worth of surface area in contact to cool down.

tkitch got a reaction from Needfuldoer in Ethernet outlet/wall cable issue
Of course it also meant I got stuck redoing *all* of the problem jacks around the office.
Cuz the state had contractors do the work and they really didn't care

tkitch got a reaction from Needfuldoer in Ethernet outlet/wall cable issue
at work years ago, we had so much trouble with the CAT5e wiring in a new buildout.
Until I took off wall plates and found that there was a solid foot of untwisted pairs past the keystones.
it was horrible

Thats crazy considering the Keystones have the wiring codes on them... at least all the ones I've ever seen and used.

tkitch got a reaction from mrtwonavels in How to add argb fans to my Msi b760m matx board
a motherboard header usually supports up to 100-150 LEDs per header.
A single Fan (for example) may have between 5 and 20 LEDs, depending on the design.

tkitch got a reaction from Poinkachu in Wiring PWM fans to 2 wires
a lot of fans won't start up at 5V even. 6V is also questionable for a lot of em.
