Benjamin22044 reacted to TukangUsapEmenq in Where can I buy a replacement battery for Xiaomi Redmi 9A ?
It's just released not so long ago so don't expect 3rd party batteries (or even on service center) will appear yet. Just wait for few months and it'll be there.

My old Redmi 5A (and I sold it to a friend) still running good enough somehow after 2 years and more. Brother's got a S9 and, it's still usable even everyday he is using a fast charger. Batteries will degrade no matter how you'd keep it safe, but you can delay how much degradation on the battery by simply just by use it nicely and, please, dont use the
    Bad idea for reliability.

Don't use it until 0% occasionally, get a habit to charge while it's touching 30-60%, and stop charging when it's touching 80-90% (you can full charge it if you wanted the maximum battery life for a day as possible). Don't play games too much as heat kills battery.

I even managed to replace my standard 5V 2A charger from Redmi Note 8 for a Aukey QC2.0 (it's barely the same as QC3.0 and little cheaper) charger. No regrets.

Dunno about electricians, but many industries -- particularly those that are customer-facing -- make you cover up your tats on the job.  You can wear gloves, but is that something you want to risk having to do?

I also imagine a back of hand tattoo will hurt like a biznatch, but that's probably not much of a concern, though the fact that the hand is generally very lumpy and stretchy will increase the likelihood of a botched tat that'll be hard to cover up.

Apparently there's also a problem called "tattoo blowout" that occurs on body parts with thin skin or frequent movement.  If the tattoo hits a knuckle or the wrist, then you're going to be at higher risk of it (it just deforms the tattoo -- doesn't actually injure you or anything).

On the flip side, the back of the hand gets virtually no droopage with age, so your tat will remain in closer to pristine condition for longer.

I worked in a tattoo studio for a time.
There is a reason ink isn't for below the wrist or ankle, these are high wear areas and the constant wear will rub your ink into a blurry mess, which is almost impossible to correct.

I think the back of the hand is slightly better than the fleshy thumb bit or knuckles, but yeah, generally pretty crap spot. Along with being forced to wear gloves or miss out entirely from certain positions it tends to fade/blur/smear and look pretty shit.

Detail demands size, this isn't paper they are working with and the canvas is living material that grows and changes over time. So any artist who says they can put something detailed on your hands, and says it'll be fine, is after your money only.
If you can, post images of what you want here, and I'll let you know if your hands are the place for that.

Generally, computer rebooting randomly can be caused by many reasons, for example, the misbehaving automatically restarting feature, overheating or a faulty power supply, a faulty RAM, a virus or malware issue, driver problems, Windows update, etc.
so check all of those first

I was having issues with restarts for a few years.  They were rare and only occured when I had youtube + a game running at the same time.  Eventually I updated the BIOS which tweaked the default power management settings, and after 3 months my system is crash free

Yup, my mobo issue is with my aging Z190 by Gigabyte.  Update from 2016 version 6 to newest version 22f from 2018 did the trick.  It has made me more diligent about BIOS updates going forward.  It also gave a more stable, higher OC.

Depends on your budget. A cheap chromebook will do for most if not all school tasks, including zoom, and because they run chromeOS, even if the hardware is not the best like, it runs well.

Chromebook would be perfect. If it's anything like my school district (hell, all of Ontario from what I've heard) is that everything will be done in gsuite - Google Docs/Slides/Sheets/Classroom/Meet.

Minnesota nice is a god damn lie, it’s really Minnesota Ice because of how passively hostile people here can be or otherwise.

Minneapolis was where some cool stuff was but now I only recognize the airport as the landmark of the city because of how horribly that city is being ran.
I guess Duluth and the Minnesota River Valley are nice areas.

Southern California (Los Angeles). California is so huge and diverse that such distinctions should be made.

I will say don't come and live here if you don't know what you're gonna do. Also if you hate the traffic and are sensitive to poor air quality (which in LA's defense has been gotten orders of magnitudes better within one generation). Cost of living is a b***h but its basic supply/demand at work sadly. Personally I will likely be leaving LA after finishing my CS degree as LA is not a tech hub to the degree other cities in the US are.

I will say that LA is one of the most diverse cities in the world, and the food and culture scene reflects upon it. As a foodie, living in a locale without a rich and varied immigrant population isn't fun. We're also close to varied activities and I've done the "surfing one day, go skiing the next day" thing during the winter months. LA also has a ton of different ethnic enclaves, including my own which makes connecting with the culture of the homeland easier and buying specialty items a lot easier. I've done the "living in small town America" and it is most definitely not for me.

I live in Alabama. It's a state that's changed quite a lot in the last 60 years. It's a cheap state to live in comparatively. Only thing that really kinda sucks is sales tax. It clocks in at a rather high 9%.
There's not much particularly noteworthy nowadays with Alabama, but there's a lot of high-paying jobs in Huntsville, so long as you have the skills. Those jobs can get you into a decent house easily. There's a lot of 90s GM piles of shit here that barely run that go for 2 grand if that's notable. Is it worth living here? It's not a bad state to live in, after being here for eight years. Anything actually interesting (unless you live in Mobile) is a drive away, but you aren't far from Atlanta and Nashville if you live in Huntsville, at least.

Just don't go to Arab. By far, the worst city in Alabama, including the dilapidated hellholes that are Birmingham and Montgomery.

I bought my MSI RTX 2080 Gaming X Trio from my local Micro Center as an open-boxed item that was shipped back to the manufacturer and was completely tested and determined everything worked...they associate was kind enough to let me take it out of the box (was in Sept 2019, pre-COVID) and I decided to buy it at the time and got home and put it in my rig and everything worked fine. It still had a game bundle that was still open and worked for me, as well as registering the warranty as if I bought it new, for the price of open-boxed. Can't beat that.

I know I was looking at refurbished keyboards and stuff at that Micro Center and they come with manufacturer warranty but is limited to maybe a year, but that's cause they were refurbished.

Also, my dad bought a refurbished Gateway HTPC back in like 2007 and used it up until 2018 or so. Never had a problem with it.

No, it doesn't. There's Plenty of people who return their purchases because they didn't actually understand what they bought or they didn't know how to use it and those still count as refurbs.
Mmmkay. Can't help you then, since I can't remember ever having bought store-refurbs.

I would look to see if you can find the Pioneer B22 series (not the Elite) if you don't care about looks.  The Polk Signature doesn't have as good of sound but much better looks -- either are about $200 / pair.  Start off with two and then add a center, then rears.

https://sites.google.com/view/speakerdata/preference-ratings-graphs provides Harman preference scores and spinorama data, link to reviews, etc. for a wide variety of speakers from $100+++.

You can make any sub wireless for about $70-100, but for your budget I would look at either the elac 10" sub or wait until JBL has a sale on their refurbished units.

    Hi All,

Until recently I have been using an old (ca 2008) Philips Home Theater in a Box solution, taking it with me from my parents house, to my first apartment, to my first house and now in my second. Unfortunately it recently died and despite my (and my father's) best efforts we cannot figure out what happened to it, it just doesn't power on, but after replacing just about every component in the power supply it still doesn't work.

Since it only cost me about $75 over 10 years ago I think it is time to upgrade to something better especially given it's playing audio for an LG C8 65"

It is essentially a home theater room, the TV is mounted on the wall, and there are in-wall wires for speakers (center, front left & right, and rear left & right).
All of these with two HDMI cables run to a small closet on the other side of the room where I would like to put the receiver, the current sub is out of the closet but across the room from the TV.

I have a pretty good understanding of audio systems, but unfortunately I just don't have the time to sink into researching a good receiver and speakers.

I should note that I am in the US in the northeast

    My general requirements would be:
Receiver requirements 5.1 channels SPDIF and/or Digital coax (I have a spdif to digital coax already run since the old system did not have spdif in) Receiver nice-to haves Dolby Atmos and DTS:X 7.2 channels Support for more speakers (there are 4 other speaker wires run through the house, two in the garage and two in the basement leading to the closet where the receiver will live) Speakers: Rears small enough to mount unobtrusively on the ceiling Good crisp sound Sub: Self powered Wireless
Ideally cheaper is better, but I would put a budget on the receiver for around $300 or so, and speakers & sub around $150, budget is flexible, and would probably be bought over the next few months

    Lets be honest people,

Did Linus and crew honestly think they could have built a better bluetooth speaker than LG? I credit them for trying and I am not trying to bash or pick on Linus or the crew, I'm just being realistic. LG has the engineers to build a product.

I do credit Linus and crew for putting together a bluetooth speaker though.
