EridanusSV got a reaction from BTGbullseye in Can I do 4k video editing on i5-4570
It'll be really choppy with that spec. My 4790K and 1080Ti can barely do Resolve 4K editing.
Got a 3950X, 32GB RAM, SAME GPU, flawless and smooth 4k editing. Timeline is extremely responsive, no more frame skips when skimming through the video.

EridanusSV got a reaction from panzersharkcat in Intel lost the game.
Intel stuck at 14nm. It's almost 2021. LMAO
Need to reach 5GHz, high usage and high temp just to get a little bit of FPS. YIKES.
I was an Intel fanboy until I upgraded to the 3950X recently. Intel's a d*mn ripoff. I feel bad recommending it to people beforehand. Biggest jebaits ever.

OP, sign up for StarLink. Once the hardware beta comes out, you can get it for $300 and try it. I live in Alaska, and most rural areas here are excited for it. ISP's here charges native and rural communities up to $500 a month for unreliable internet. Starlink will only charge you less than a $100/mo IIRC.

EridanusSV got a reaction from CoolName80 in 3900x or 5800x
5800X to juice the FPS out of your games. 12c 3900X if you're going to stream or record in high quality or you have tons of apps running and using in the same time as you game. Enjoy man!

EridanusSV got a reaction from piratemonkey in Is my Nvidia Evga gtx 970 gpu too hot when playing Overwatch?
Overwatch spits out so much frames that your card will reach 80 to 90. If you watch XQC's OW streams, his GPU is maxing out at like 85 to 90. It's ridiculous.

EridanusSV reacted to RhysMusique in Motherboard QVL - Memory DIMM slots?
Hey all,
Looking to upgrade my RAM to a 4x8GB 4000MHz kit.
Looking on the QVL for Ryzen processors looks as though in principle, the motherboard supports the RAM. but doesn't support a 4-DIMM installation of the memory, which kinda defeats the object of having 4x8GB sticks?
Anyone had any experience with this, and was it okay to install the 4 DIMMs as normal?
Cheers,
Rhys
PS Sorry for the handwriting on the screenshot!

EridanusSV reacted to Kasualties in Just installed an NVME and nothing is working
So my pc ran fine, but the SSD was dying. I ordered an NVME and installed it.
Nothing.
My keyboard lights up, my mouse doesn't, all the fans spin and lights light up.
Did I break something or what?

EridanusSV got a reaction from Flavlus in 4770k (4.2Ghz) + RTX 3070?
We don't know yet. No actual benchmark data is released for 4000 up to 9000 series + 3080 let a lone 3070 -- heck, people who ordered on the first second probably still have their cards in the warehouse being prepared for shipment.
My little brother has my old 4790K and I have the 3950X. Once I get a hold of a 3070 next month, I'll let you know for sure... (If I remember)

EridanusSV got a reaction from GhostRoadieBL in Brand New RTX 2060 + i7 Laptop CPU Stays at about 100’C while gaming ( ASUS TURBO MODE ) !! Should I be Worried?
How is 100C average. C'mon. I'd say 70 to 85 on load -- but 100.

EridanusSV reacted to jaslion in Should I get the ps5 regular of ps5 all digital
Ya like collecting physical things? Get the disk if not then don't. If you got ps4 disk games and want to play them on the ps5 disk it is. Also used disk games tend to be a pretty good price if it's a common game after a relatively short time.

EridanusSV reacted to unholy_walrus in Screwed my AIO Rad. Would I face any problems later?
It's very common to have some of the fins get damaged/bent when handling rads. They're made of aluminum or copper, thus making them fairly soft. All of my rads have bents fins from dropping fittings on them etc. Just like @Semper said, you'll lose some cooling effectiveness, but very little - unless the damaged are is large and prevents airflow significantly. In your case, you shouldn't even notice it.
Do make sure the liquid channel is indeed intact, but if there is no visible damage on it at all, you should be completely fine. Luckily the channels themselves aren't quite as fragile as the fins, and most modern rads tend not to have them directly under the screw holes or they have protective plates under the holes to prevent damage - though I would still be careful when handling rads. I've had to repair channels on a couple older rads damaged by using wrong screws, and it's not great fun. Personally I have a hard time trusting my own (sort of botched) repairs so it's usually a death sentence for the rad.

So long as the channel itself isn't punctured/damaged, no, you'll just lose the effectiveness of that fin contact.

Did you watch the video lol? According to Steve, yes it does. However this is just a risk mitigation PSA.
Well if you have no choice then you have no choice. If you are getting a good AIO I would not over think this.

EridanusSV got a reaction from Salv8 (sam) in RAM and SSD prices soon to plummet due to oversuply
Might be able to get a complete 64GB RAM set instead of waiting for the next paycheck. This is dope.
