  1. I'm planning to plug it in to a powered USB hub... will the range change if I only want data to go through it?
  2. Will a normal USB Male to Female extension cable work with a USB 3.0 device? Will I still be able to get USB 3.0 speed? Or do I need a special cable for it? I have seen some "USB 3.0 Extension Cables" but can't find it at the length that I require (10 meters)...
  3. There is literally no space xd... the space between my GPU and the motherboard is less than the size of the SATA connector head... pardon the dust xd... my P500A is still in transit and my RX 580 wont fit in the old case... will do maintenance and cleaning when it arrives xd
  4. I am aware of the temperature tradeoff... I'm not really a fan of cutting off the bars on the expansion slots... sooo vertical brackets are out of the question... I am not mounting my gpu vertically for aesthetics (my RX 580 Nitro+ doesnt really look good mounted vertically)... I have an old motherboard that has 6 sata ports... when my GPU is mounted, it blocks 4 sata ports leaving me with only 2 ports to work with... mounting it vertically would free up all sata ports... I am in the middle of upgrading my pc... decided to start with the PSU and case... will probably upgrade my CPU, RAM and motherboard by nxt year... sooo for the meantime I'd like to mount my GPU vertically so that I can free up all sata ports for my drives... my old motherboard doesnt support m.2 drives
  5. Is there a standard connector size for riser cables? I'm worried because I saw Kyle's video (at 24:45, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zn_TVqeugOc) and it seems that Cable Mod riser cables are not compatible with the case... tho I do think that "that" specific riser cable is meant to work with Cable Mod's bracket... hence the incompatibility...
  6. I'm planning to mount my GPU vertically... will any riser cable work or do I have to buy the Phanteks one?
  7. magician and the drive's firmware is already up to date :c
  8. Bought an 860 EVO few months ago and I have noticed random freezes... I looked it up online and I found out that Samsung drives and old AMD motherboards doesn't go well together (something about AMD SATA controllers not completely compatible or something). I only saw people complaining about this but have not read any solution other than to change the AMD SATA controller to the standard Windows one (it kinda worked... had less freezes). Does anyone here know how to completely fix this? or am I just screwed till I upgrade? Quick Specs: MSI 880GMS-E41(FX) FX-4300 Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 Magician Performance Optimization settings: RAPID is set to off TRIM is enabled on the Information section of Samsung Magician it reports some errors: DID | 4390 Under the current system environment, some functions in Magician CANNOT be run. If multiple iterations of Read and Write are performed, RAPID mode may become inactive due to system internal errors on some of the AMD / AsMedia Controller or Driver. DID_REV | 4390_40 Under the current system environment, some functions in Magician CANNOT be run. If multiple iterations of Read and Write are performed, RAPID mode may become inactive due to system internal errors on some of the AMD / AsMedia Controller or Driver.
  9. thanks a lot... btw one last thing i forgot to ask... what do you call the front header type-c connector thingy? idk how many pins it has...
  10. Is the front header of the Tomahawk compatible with the connector on the H510? The one on the Tomahawk is Gen 1 while the H510 has a Gen 2 connector... I can't find anything online about the connector (don't know what to call it xd). If their connectors fit... I'm assuming it should work but with Gen 1 speed? Answers I'm looking for: Will the H510 connector fit on the Tomahawk? If it does... at what speed? Are there any major feature I'll lose from Gen 1 to Gen 2 aside from the speed? (idk... not a usb guy... thinking being able to power a monitor with Gen 2 and not Gen 1? xd) P.S. This is my first forum post... sooo sorry if I posted it in the wrong section... also I did it on my phone sooo idk if the layout would be fine (gonna try to make it organized as best as I can)
