  1. Nevermind... it wasn't the monitor.. it was my UPS crying in pain trying to power my new GPU. (my UPS is right beside the monitors which is why I though it was coming from them.)
  2. Hi I was wondering if anyone had experienced something similar to this. I just managed to get home with my newly secured GPU and wanted to run a bench, so I loaded up Heaven 4.0 - When running at 2560 x 1440 the LG monitor emits a loud constant beep. The noise stops when I drop the resolution. I am fairly certain it's the monitor making the sound not the PC, as I've put myself between the PC and the monitors and the sound definitely comes from where the monitors are. The monitor is supposed to do 2560x1440 @165, but I've tried at both 165 and 144 refresh rates and the sound persists, but only at 2560x1440. I've tried with FreeSync / Gsync Compatible on and off as well (it actually seems to be worse when turned off) Any insight would be Greatly appreciated. -Em
  3. I'm planning on a desk clamp Vesa mount (3 monitors)
  4. Well easy enough to test one at a time. if you're running two dimms pull one at a time out and see. I would lean more towards CPU or RAM at that point as well. I recently had PSU problems (system would randomly shut off).
  5. I was leaning towards the LG, since it's a larger panel, and actually the cheaper of the two (on amazon at least).
  6. I've done a bit of pricing (on the Canada side of things so your results may vary), but If you aim for an Intel System with integrated graphics you'll at least have a full second system. Through Dell I was able to price 3090's for about $1000 over MSRP, and 3080's for about $700 over MSRP. I never priced the 3070. So you'd get an 11th gen Intel system for $700 CAD. They seemed to be the best of the bunch I could find price wise.
  7. Admittedly it's been a hot minute since I've had to deal with this personally, so someone may want to corroborate this, but I'm fairly certain that reinstalls over an existing copy can still leave behind a lot of things windows thinks it's going to need (like intel drivers). You may need a fresh install.
  8. Were the windows reinstalls, a fresh wipe and scratch reinstall, or a reinstall over the existing copy of windows?
  9. I'm in the process of upgrading my whole rig, and finally may have secured a 3090 for myself... which means my old 1080p 60Hz monitors need to go. I plan to do mostly Streaming, Gaming, some 3D modeling, but no real colour work. I'm also aiming for the 2k range on gaming rather than 4k (I've already spent enough on this thing, so I'll save at least a little here). I've been looking around but seem to have come down between these two monitors since they're in the same price neighbourhood: LG UltraGear LG 32GN600-B 32" Ultragear and the Gigabyte M27Q Any thoughts between these two, or recommendations? I'm focusing more on pretty than competitive, since I'm not much of an FPS gamer (outside of story mode). Thanks everyone!
  10. Thanks, I been watching LTT for years (ever since back in NCIX), but only popped onto the forms today. I'm surprised how well the GTX960 has held up, first wall I've really hit was HZD.
  11. CPU and GPU area always the last thing I buy for a planned system anyways, because of releases (unless a great sale comes along). So I'm not opposed to waiting on them. I am hoping to have something up and running by the end of the year. My stream chug is really getting me down on the titles I want to play, and I've been super excited for some upcoming titles I don't think my current rig can handle (like Cyberpunk). I was already planning on waiting to see what happens after the 3000 series are announced (also I think September from what I've heard?). I do want something that'll do Ray tracing.
  12. Budget (including currency): $3600 CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Primarily Gaming & Streaming, Some office work and 3D printing design Other details: So I'm build a new system from the ground up as my current system can't really be upgraded. It does well enough for now, but I've noticed some more recent games get kind of slide-show like while streaming (on stream only, local gameplay is fine). So I'm aiming for something fairly high end, but still with room for future upgrades. Here's the current build plan I've put together. This is the first time I've ever gone with liquid cooling so I decided to go with an AIO, and i'm also deciding to embrace the RGB for the first time, so I've gone with a build that should all work with Corsair iCUE to keep things (theoretically) easier on myself. I was originally planning on going with a different case, the Obsidian Series 500D RGB SE, then realized it was too tall for where I was going to put it. I would like to have front panel USB-C but I'm limited by the clearance i have, so I may have to reorganize where I'm going to put the case, at which point I'll probably go back to the Obsidian. my clearance is no more than 473cm tall.
