EVGA ACX coolers are the best coolers with a reference design. (or any design)

I had to answer myself the same question a few weeks ago. I wanted to get a good aftermarket 780ti, but with a reference pcb for possible waterblock compatibility down the road.
Basically the two best 780ti's that use the reference pcb and have a good quiet aftermarket cooler are:

    the gigabyte windforce oc (non-ghz)
    and the msi gaming 3g
both come with a factory 1085 MHz boost clock, which is the highest of all air cooled 780ti's and on one level with the 780ti classified from evga.

In the end I went for the msi one, as I have a red/black themed build, which msi's 780ti suits quite well, and the writing on the gigabyte's backplate is upside down.

one thing worth considering though is, that evga has also awesome looks, great warranty on their acx units, and offers to exchange your card with the upcoming 6GB version down the road.

You know that secretly somewhere somebody thought this would be a good idea, and decided to put it out today to gauge reactions without making people think they went insane.

i agree on the basis that @kuddleworth9419 , mobo makers need to get their asses in gear. when it comes to your your budget boards, yeah you can leave off some of the bells and whistles, but when i spend £250 +pounds on a mobo , i want it to be all 7 all Dancing  i want nothing to be left off, i want to feel like its money well spent.

if you really want your data safe i would recomend to use a NAS with 2 HHDs on RAID1(for redundancy) or make a small file server. I dont trust external hard drives :P.
You can move all your data to the NAS (or server) and it will be safer than having all on diferent HDDs.

To make regularly backups you can use Acronis True Image.
