  1. I think this may be the issue. I currently use a mac and it looks like making a bootable windows drive on mac is a pain. Might have done something wrong during this process.
  2. Hey guys, I'm trying to install windows 10 with a USB on my MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI motherboard. I'm pressing F11 when it starts up but it immediately goes into the BIOS. I tried setting the boot priority to UEFI USB key but that didn't help either. What am I supposed to do to get into the boot menu?
  3. This is just an aside, but do you know what's going on with my PSU to GPU cable? It's not modular but why are there two seemingly identical ends diverging in some kind of Y shape?
  4. Thanks, I've given some of these a try but I'll make sure to do each one.
  5. Yeah, I tried it both ways although no igpu so should be 1650S.
  6. Thanks! I didn't know about the debug lights. I'm away from my PC right now but I'll give it a look once I can. Also, does DP stand for display port?
  7. Hey guys, first time PC builder here. I've assembled the machine and when I turn it on the CPU cooler fans, GPU fans, and case fans all appear to function normally. However, my monitor picks up no signal when I connect it to my GPU via HDMI (I've tested the monitor with other devices). Although I didn't connect a keyboard, I believe it should still post(?) I've attached photos of my build and listed the parts below. Any obvious issues you can see from here? 8. I'm completely new to PC building, so I was wondering how case fans determine their speed. Do they spin at 100% as soon as you turn the PC on, do you set it manually, or does it happen automatically based on the temps? Also, what would you need to do for the fans to automatically shut down completely when you're idle? This is my setup: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor £164.90 @ AWD-IT Motherboard ASRock B450M PRO4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard £73.97 @ Amazon UK Memory Team T-FORCE DARK Z 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory £99.99 @ Box Limited Storage Western Digital Blue SN550 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive £56.96 @ Amazon UK Video Card MSI GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB VENTUS XS OC Video Card £134.95 @ AWD-IT Case NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case £67.79 @ CCL Computers Power Supply be quiet! 9. This is a random question, but are there any motherboard compatibility issues to be wary of when picking WiFi/Bluetooth cards? Also, I've never built a PC before so do all the WiFi cards just fit with every PC case? I'm going for the NZXT H510 case and I'm looking to buy this card: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ubit-1200Mbps-Bluetooth-Wireless-2×Antenna-WIE7265-4-2-Intel-AC-Dual-band/dp/B07Y82HZV1/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=wifi%2Bcard&qid=1598345467&sr=8-3&th=1
  10. Did I miss anything or is the only difference between the ASRock B450M Pro4 and Pro4-F a single USB 3.1 Gen 2 connector in the rear? http://asrock.com/mb/compare.asp?Models=B450M Pro4,B450M Pro4-F I don't have anything that supports 3.1 Gen 2 so if that's the case, I'd opt to save the 6 pounds.
  11. Wow, that's nearly identical to the build I currently have lol. Thanks for the tips. I wanted to go with the Pure Power 11, but I was worried of limiting myself with future upgrades with 400W. Do you think this will be an issue if I go one or two levels up in the next few years?
  12. Yeah, I've been messing around in pcpartpicker and am hovering around 650 pounds. What do you think of the ASRock B450M PRO4 or ASRock B450M PRO4-F (it's really cheap where I'm at)? Also, considering I'm running a 1440p monitor what is your recommendation on the GPU question?
  13. I'm in the UK so price and availability is a bit weird. I'm not looking at enthusiast-level (probably won't OC). I'm even considering the new A520 motherboards to avoid BIOS headaches. I could go for B450 if the price is low with decent improvements in VRM or slots though.
  14. Either a Ryzen 3 3300X or a Ryzen 5 3600 and 32GB of RAM. Haven't decided on a motherboard yet. Cooler Master MWE Bronze V2 550W PSU. I will be using a 1440p monitor though.
  15. Photoshop will be my main use case. Is it better to have more VRAM or a newer GPU with higher clock speeds and GDDR6?
  16. Thanks! Do you think I'm gonna have to fill up the 2 optional fan slots? I don't know how hot a PC like this is gonna get.
  17. I'm a complete noob trying to go for a compact mini-ITX build. Use case is mostly PS/Blender/light gaming. I'm not sure if these parts will work with each other, if they will actually fit, or if the thermal situation checks out. Any advice is appreciated!
