  1. Hi thanks for your help. It turns out windows automatically did a device set-up, which broke the original drivers. In an attempt to fix this, installing ASIO fixed the output but did not fix the input. Deleting and reinstalling the drivers manually did the trick. Thanks again
  2. Hi, I've just bought a Behringer UMC202HD Audio Interface for use with music DAWs. The direct monitor is working but I'm getting nothing from my PC. I have checked that the devices are selected on the relevant programs (Cakewalk, Discord, Audacity) and on Sound. When attempting to record, I just get an error message along the lines of "error opening recording device." In Discord, I select the UMC202HD Microphone but no sound is detected. The microphone (SM58) is detected by my Audio Interface, since I can hear it in Direct Monitor and a light illuminates when sound is detected. The programs do detect audio from my Blue Snowball microphone In the AI I have a guitar plugged into INPUT 1 and the microphone in INPUT 2 I have my AKG headphones plugged into the AI's headphone socket What could be the problem is that I'm currently using a USB A to USB B cable scavenged from my printer as a temporary measure (the AI didn't come with a cable so that's what I'm using until I can get a cable). However, I'm not sure this is a problem because the printer includes a scanner so should (?) therefore be a 2-way cable.
