It looks like it didnt copy the link.
As you can see on this picture the long alphanumeric string was already on the clipboard.
Can you try CTRL+V to copy, see if that does work?

Remove said disk form its confined cage and connect it directly to PC.
If gives same errors drive is busted. If not external enclosure is busted.

(And im guessing its the last one, as all those external cases are pretty bad in quality.)

I was thinking the same thing, maybe the enclosure is the problem, by the way, thanks for the solution, will try and give feedback 🤍

  3. HDD 'Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)'

I went and grabbed my external hard disk today to get a file for a friend. So, when I plugged my Hard Disk using the USB cable, I didn't see the drive, I thought it might be a connection problem, so I disconnected and reconnected, to be noted, whenever I connected the drive, the PC would give a 'Disk Connect Sound'. So I thought that the drive must have any other problem, so I went to the DIsk Management Utility inside Windows, and then I found this.....

    1. The Drive didn't have any drive letter [Image 1]

    2. The Drive didn't have any type of unallocated space or allocated space marked in the drive section [Image 1]

    3. Whenever I tried to Initialize Disk, with either MBR or GPT, it would say Data Error (cyclic redundancy check). [Image 2,3,4]

[I know it wasn't infected by a virus, and it wasn't any type of malware or ransomware]

So, is there anything I can do about this on my own? Please I need you guys help on this!

Details about My External Hard Disk:

    Name: Transcend StoreJet 25D3 1TB

    Specs: USB 3.0

when in doubt, don't run anything executable, scan it first.

    reformat should destroy the files.

is this a sdcard? you can also upload the documents from your phone to google drive, let google scan the virus for you.
