  1. So at the moment i have 2 seperate machines running, besides my main Game system. 1 Old Amd-e350 which acts as a nas, automated download box, a small DB server, and i wanted to host my HomeWizzard, but : its on 24/7 -I want the DB server to be its own instance, because of some issues with the downloads taking up all the cpu on unrar actions -its only got 4gb of ram, which aint enough for another VM -Its Dog Slow. -its decided 100mbit was fast enough ethernet for it, instead of 1gbit 2 A 1st gen i5 nuc. running windows, that is connected as my pc, and is used for viewing films from the nas, stream netflix, a LOT of browsing, and some light gaming. its on a fair bit, and goes to sleep when im nog using it for 30 minutes -Its also only got 4gb ram, which is getting problematic when you got 20+ tabs open, half of them youtube. -It can't keep up with 4k decoding, and im buying a 4k tv in next few months. So both are outdated and problematic at this point, and i want to save some energy by turning them in to a single system On a Whim i bought a weird chinese m-atx mobo with a mobile i7 soldered on it for cheap, thrown 32GB on it, and After some fiddling i now have it running perfect in windows 10 viewing 4k films. My intentions were to make it a VM-Host using unraid or something, and then just host a new nass VM, a few smaller vm's . and host the HTPC as a VM with gpu passtrough. But after some more reading, it seems GPU passtrough the igpu, without a second GPU installed is gonna be very problematic, and because of the power usage, i dont want to add a second GPU. So im not sure what my options are, i gues ill could just run the windows HTPC install, and host the VM's on there. But with the pc being used a lot it requires regular reboots. Which isnt very ideal as a host and i gues that would prevent windows going to a lower power usage state So im not sure what the best options is ? You guys have any suggestions ?
  2. storing your files on a nas, and backing up on a nas are 2 seperate things ! ask my dad who "backed up " all his photos on the nass. till that got busted, and only thrn mentioned there were no other copies
  3. what do you mean by "blow it out of the water ?"/ just volume ? Cause both would be more than enough sound to start a fight with the neigbours. and those 500W is divided bij 7 channels so thats not that different if you only use 2
