Even when in use? They degrade faster? It's not like it would be unpowered also is there a way to keep a SSD from moving data around if you plan to fill it and leave it?

Interesting question. If you were making a media server (Plex for example) and your main goal was data longevity for a one write many read setup would it be better (other than for your wallet of course) to go with a all SSD server or a mass hard drive server? I know I know SSD's are far more expensive in the short term but if you were going for say a decade or more with only written to one time just read from many thousands or more times at what point would the SSD's pull ahead in the longevity game?
