  1. I know this thread is old. But i just picked up two Ironwolf drives 8tb. I put them mirrored and trying to get them working, but they are constantly doing this, and then if i turn off or restart, the drives disconnect from each other and then i have to create a new mirror. Which btw, is crazy slow. The drive is fresh, with only a folder created for testing, has only 333 megabytes of data consumed when inspected, and has been resynching for 15 minutes and at 3% right now. Would it be better to use AMD Raidxpert2 software instead, i liked that if the windows drives become disconnected i can still read one of the drives right? Looking for an option that, 1 is stable raid support INSIDE my computer. 2. If something happens to one of the mirrors, i can just plug and play it into an external enclosure to recover the files. Thanks!
  2. Summary Imagine combining this with Risc 5 chips that eat less than 1 watt of power Quotes My thoughts Making silicon with this tech could be instrumental in advancing battery tech in mobile devices and getting past Lith-Ion based devices. 3. BUMP: Yeah so i got a new battery and for two weeks everything is fine. Just last night it died on me. Thought the battery was drained. So i charged it. Nope, just magically ubuntu no longer identifies the battery installed and has a very hard time running if i can get it to turn on without the AC cable plugged in. Any idea what this could be? I hate to have to wipe hte machine and start it over again as a hard fix. But not seeing anything for reinstalling a package to fix battery?
  4. I found these articles: https://askubuntu.com/questions/773595/how-can-i-disable-touchpad-while-typing-on-ubuntu-16-04-syndaemon-isnt-working https://askubuntu.com/questions/838645/how-to-not-ignore-touchpad-input-when-keyboard-keys-are-pressed-on-ubuntu-gnome But these dont work with my Lattitude e7270 running Ubuntu 20.04 Its really, REALLY annoying to have this feature while trying to play World of Warcraft (yep got that working, full prepatch shadowlands to run on this dinky hardware just fine) and these articles are too out of date. Anybody got any ideas. Sucks forgetting to pack a laser mouse. .. .
  5. Not that I have found, i can check bios again and poke around. It is a dell afterall
  6. Thanks for the info from your experience! Makes it a bit better to bite down on a new battery to replace knowing that its just isolated in the battery itself!
  7. Hello great people on the forums. So beginning of 2020 I picked up an aftermarket (probably enterprise) used Dell Latitude E7270 on ebay. It works well and I mostly use it for my linux learning and playing around. I have used it in windows and have had the same issue. After the battery is fully charged and starts to drain, when it hits about 75% it drops to 5%. This is actually not correct and something is informing the OS that the battery is about to die. I can actually force the computer on after getting it past 0% reading and use it for a few more hours. I have power cycled it a few times full drains and recharges. Dell diag finds the battery fine. I have unseated and reseated the connecter a few times as I have done some minor cleanup inside. I am planning to just replace the battery but I wanted to see if anyone here has seen this kind of issue. I dont want to replace the battery and then have the new battery do the same thing because its something else causing the glitch. So checking if its just the battery itself or anything else? Thanks in Advance!
