Budget: $1500 US
Country: US
Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, CAD (Solidworks), entertainment, machine learning, Linux VM
Other details: Basically, my current desktop is a low-end 6-year-old gaming laptop. I'm at a point where I can't take using it any more (even just for a couple months when the new CPUs/GPUs are released), and at the same time I'm in a situation with a lot of disposable income. So I'd like to splurge on my first PC build. The budget is just suggestion; what I want is a no-compromises PC that will be able to handle any of the above workloads easily, whether it costs $1200 or $2000.
I don't have any particular games in mind. I'd like it to be able to handle almost any game at 60fps+ on medium settings. I have 2 monitors, one 1440p and one 1080p.
Here is my current parts list. This thing I'm most unsure about is whether I actually need a 3900x, or if not what I should bump down to.
