    1. Try check Window Event Log, sometime you can see what happened there.
    2. Close MSI Afterburner.

Just make sure to install decent drivers,a lot of XT cards had driver issues, dunno if that was fix or not.

I'd personally go with Sapphire since I trust Sapphire.
Besides 5500 XT chip beats RX 580 by a bit and it's newer.
Id avoid use cards you mentioned.
Personally if you could find old GTX 1070 (Ti) that would be best bet, dunno the pricing but if you can't find one go with Pulse.
You would be fine at medium settings at 1080p.

Bottlenecking becomes an issue if you are combining really old hardware (more than 3-4 generations difference) or trying to squeeze extra performance (for that 5% bragging rights). As long its stable, you should not worry about bottlenecking for gaming. Plus you can turn down graphics settings for better FPS/stability. Digital bullets work exactly the same on max and min settings. Main thing is to have the option to game LONG not hard. You wont be enjoying yourself if the game keeps crashing every 10 minutes due to overstretched demands...

Old 6/7 gen i CPUs are expensive (for instance, i7-7700K is €500 brand new now). I would look at ryzen CPUs for any planned upgrade. People are swapping them out like they did with Intel stuff a few years back. So the second hand market will have better prices in 6 mon/1 year.

You will have bigger problems with drivers and hardware level issues than CPU/GPU bottlenecking. If it works, then it works.

if you have the option, go for 5500XT. They will have better value down the line if you decide to upgrade again.

im running an i7-7700K with R9 390X. Desperate for a GPU upgrade, but I dont see upgrading the CPU for another 2-3 years. Probably when DDR5 memory launches...

i suggest you to chose the rx 5500 xt if you can afford it, if not then pick the 1650 rather than 1050, but if you are a budget guy i'll suggest 1050

    Ok, will try this.

Honestly this gets my vote OP, especially if it's something that possibly *needs* maintenance, otherwise 100 bucks sounds really good (200 is too greedy lol)

You never provide the source code, unless it's some government thing where some vetting has to take place. If you do provide the source code, and are a good programmer, they will most likely just replace you with someone cheaper in the end

I'll go in the middle. Your pricing also depends on your customer. If they seem fancy, you can ask them for a fancy price

With the context provided here, you could probably charge them $150 and some maintenance fees of say $10 for 6 months. I doubt your program will need too much modification/rewriting for the task and functions you described above. But make sure that new features, or customer requested modifications does not fall under the maintenance fees, and that you will charge extra for it depending on how much work it is

Did they ask you to develop this software for them (if so, why did you not make a contract beforehand?) or did you make it in the hopes of selling it to them? Are you sure they're even interested?

I'd be very careful with that. Be sure to set up a contract that details what exactly is covered by this maintenance fee (and what isn't) otherwise you could end up playing their sysadmin for the foreseeable future. If you demand a monthly fee, you can be certain they will want something out of it (new feature, bugfixes, …)

It entirely depends what the software does, local market prices, if it was a custom solution written for one customer, etc. If there is competing software solutions what do those cost?

$200 USD sounds a bit steep for something written by someone fresh out of high school but it entirely depends what the program actually does.

I can't tell you if they are good deals or not as I live in the U.S. and don't know how much is considered expensive there also I don't feel like converting the numbers but I would go with the 570.

If you can find one, get something like a 1060 or rx 580. Don't spend more than $120 on one though, and try to get the higher vram models (6gb for the 1060, 8gb for the 580). Just make sure your psu can handle a better gpu like one of these

A 1080 or a 1650 would be a good upgrade, you wouldn't be bottlenecked and you should see a significant performance boost you might even be able to run highly optimized and esports games at 4k

Pretty sure part of posting -aything- to GitHub is that you're giving anyone the (legal) ability to fork whatever you release. You retain copyright but that's it, it's free for people to play with and maintain their own forks.

It doesn't but as you probably do yourself occasionally there will be some people who don't give a damn about your license, so if you publish your code you'll certainly have someone providing your app for free, for a discount or using your code in their own competing app shortly after.

    Do I understand you correctly.
You want to upload your source code to GitHub so that anyone and everyone can see it, but you do not want someone to be able to just download it for free without paying you?

In that case you probably want something like the "Microsoft Reference Source License". You can find the license here, and I have also added the entire text in the spoiler below.
Something to keep in mind is that while it would be against the license for someone to download and compile the code, there is technically nothing preventing someone from doing it either.
So if you publish your software on GitHub for everyone to see, and license it under the Microsoft Reference Source License then it would be illegal (or at the very least breaking the license agreement) to take your code and compile or modify it without your permission (thus preventing things like forks or people using your software without paying) but it would also be incredibly easy to pirate it (which is against the law).

First and foremost you need to analyse your local job market. Is your market one that demands diploma's or is it happy with small educations and certificates? I do not know how this is in South Africa but first example in Belgium they are very very picky about someone having a diploma. Hence why we have some very easy it programs. I've gotten many rejections for networking stuff even tho I did have the required cisco ccna  but did not have a networking diploma due to a shift in interests and only have a webdev one. People that did not have the certificate which basically does show how much you know but had a diploma from one of the simpler tracks that basically prepped you for 3 years for the ccna test and then even failed that one often got these jobs with well pretty obviously most of the time those jobs opening again soon after.

So tl;dr. Study your job market. Do they require diploma's? Are they ok with online learning or only getting certificates?
