  1. This was lost in shipping for 2 months but arrived today. I like the look of the watch, but I am definitely ordering new straps for this thing the included ones aren't too good.
  2. Following the merging of software between Oppo and Oneplus I was under the impression that stock Android was about to become harder to get..... Long story short it was between the Pixel and the iPhone 13 Pro. However, the retailer had also bundled in a pair of AirPods gen 2, which I knew were really good. So i bought the iPhone. Not too impressed but since I'm less of a phone nerd these days (was into ROMs and custom kernels) I've found it to do the job and I have no complaints. I do wish I bought the 13 Mini rather than the Pro though. Began looking into getting a new laptop since I would begin my master's this summer and my Lenovo had a terribly decayed battery. NotbookCheck raved about the new m2 air. I decided to buy it and I'll honestly say that its the best laptop I've ever had. I would not want it to be my only computer though.
  3. Although I did used to think Macbooks were not worth buying (still the case for intel based Macs), the new Apple silicon macs genuinely seem like a great school computer. So entering my masters i decided to replace my terrible battery lenovo ideapad with this. Very happy with it in terms of battery life and keeb+ trackpad.
  4. Is there any significant difference between using safari and Firefox on the newer m-soc based Macs? Ive bought an m2 air and would prefer not to use safari, but there seems to be a consensus that safari is more efficient than other browsers on macOS. Is this the case?
  5. I think the difference between going from 60 to 120 is very noticeable in terms of just smoothness. In terms of competitive advantage, I don't think the average person has a good enough reaction time to fully utilize 240hz and beyond. My reaction time hovers around 150-160ms as I've gotten older (The average is about 250-280) and the jump from 144hz to 240hz was kind of noticeable but not groundbreaking. Playing enabling strobing made a more dramatic difference to me. 240hz with strobing is lightyears better than 60hz.
  6. I would venture to guess that it would depend heavily on where you are from and the quality of life you are used to. As a Norwegian, I don't find living in any other country appealing. From an outsider's perspective, Canada seems to have the highest quality of life on the American continent.
  7. Whats wrong with hairloss medication lol. Although its better to buy the medecine directly rather than through companies that mark it up.
  8. I bought one of those smart rings like Linus has, primarily to track my sleep. I don't really like to have a watch on when I sleep, and I prefer to wear my own watches, so I chose this over an Apple Watch. The heart rate monitor is also nice to have. Unfortunately, from my understanding, the heart rate monitor is not really that accurate yet during workouts.
  9. No i have not. I may consider the wallet, the vessi shoes are ugly imo so i will not buy them.
  10. If youre an evil person you may recommend Factiorio. The game is literally crack cocaine.
  11. Tarkovs anti cheat is very bad. For the longest of times you could easily edit the game assets and literally copy paste the md5 checksum to pass the local integerty check. Server side is easily dealt with Fiddler. Im not even sure theyve patched it to be honest. There should be kernel level anticheats like there is in Valorant.
  12. Im thinking of bying this battery for my 3 Year old Lenovo: https://www.lenovobatt.com/lenovo-batteries/lenovo-ideapad-s540-13api-81xc001uhh-replacement-battery.htm Does anyone have experince with this site? I know sourcing replacement oem parts is a minefield...
  13. Lightweight mice are simply better than heavier mice for anything that require fast and accurate movement. I went from an 85 gram zowie fk2, to a 47 gram ultralight 2 to a 38 g wolves hsk. Putting shape improvments aside, the reduction in weight makes it much easier to flick its insane.
  14. Yes i have adblock on everything i can. On my pc, laptop. I also sideload apps on my iphone that have the ads removed. I did pay for youtube premium for a little while, however with all the sponsor segments and subscriber begging youtubers do these days i found youtube premium wasnt worth it. I also use sponsorblock on all my devices.
  15. Tiger Arc 2 are a safe bet on aftermarket feet and is a tad faster and smoother than stock ptfe feet generally
  16. That depends on how fast you want it aswell as the pad youre using. You could get someting like cermaic or glass feet like superglides for very fast feet. Stock ones are ptfe i believe and should be pretty decent
  17. Hello i have the ekwb asus colab rtx 3070. Im very happy with it and it overclocks pretty good. However the coil whine on the gpu is the loudest noise my pc makes under load (the noise seems similar regardless of the voltage and even stock operration) Since it is watercooled the heat from the gpu is pumped away in water, i would assume the gpu is not dependent on airflow as the vrms and vram seem to have contanct on the waterblock. Could i in theory pack something like kneaded eraser to make an airtight seal on the the gpu? By around the gpu i mean between the waterblock itself and the actual gpu pcb. Maybe add a tall passive heatsink on the backplate, as most of that backplate would probably need to be kneaded erased too. It would probably look ugly but i have solid side panels anyway.
  18. Im playing around with peltier modules trying build a silent minifridge. Currently using an aio. I know im leaving out alot of details required to answer the question correctly. If i were to mount 7-8 cpu coolers (with no fan) to a cooper sheet would the sheet be able to transfer the heat? It would be mostly tower style coolers mostly 92mm size. The copper sheet would be around 25x35 cm. The peltier module is 60 watts, but u assume id need to cool around 80 watts. I could definetly scale up to more cpu coolers. But if it isnt fesible in princible im not gonna bother
  19. Im working with literal garbage ;). The rm850x 2018 in pc main is inaudible to me. But my budget for this fridge is as close to 0 usd as i can get. Going by that logic, is it safe to assume that a higher wattage rated psu would have a more robust cooling setup, which in turn would make it more suited to passive cooling? I think i have a cx750m green label also, which has power but is loud. And for laptop charger idea, the one that come in are generally 65w. I assume that would be too close for comfort given the load?
  20. All the psus that have come and ive tried have been fairly noisy, 2011-2013 stuff. They seem to always be the loudest component, rpm seems to be constant for the most part. Had i put it in my main build it would be louder than my pc under full load. Im definatley not proposing passive only. It just seems simpler to just remove the noisemaking component if it dosent impact the purpouse.
  21. I agree that a laptop charger would probably be a better idea. I might wait out for one. That would be noiseless aswell, and would give me alot more space in the chassis of the fridge. No i know peltiers can be quite tricky. I do not expect to run it passive. However the element ran fine with a 240mm aio with two random fans running at 5 volts. It also handled a 20 watt peltier stacked ontop of the 60w running fans at 7 volts, granted at 20c ambient (which i did just for fun literally playing with garbage). Might be false advertising calling it noiseless but its certianly quiter running a compressor fridge. I think a laptop charger would be much smarter to use thank you guys for the tip. Im not sure which one is a more potenital fire hazzard lol.
  22. Im making a minifridge for my dorm, using scrap parts at my summer job. I'll be powering a 60w peltier element aswell as a fan(s) maybe a pump. I'd like for the fridge to run noiseless so im considering running a standard atx psu without a fan. If not then i'll do a fan swap. The one i have on hand is a coolermaster b500, a fairly low tier psu. Would a powerdraw of 60-70 watts be fine to handle passively by a psu that is designed to be activley cooled?
  23. Artisan Zero soft or xsoft, as its literally made to emulate the qck (might be a tad faster though). Its more expensive but its one of the highest quality mousepads on the market. Been using them since 2016 and i wont buy from anyone else
