I've started to work on this, but one dimension is needed still. How thick is the steel?

Their website for that unit even states "standard low-profile". I guess standard is their standard so you have to buy from them for a card to fit properly.

NickKz reacted to jaslion in Can someone explain the proper way to use an HDR enabled monitor that is NOT the Pro Display XDR on MacOS?
They have full data communication and strong processing in the screen to analyze what makes sense where. It's an extremely advanced display with basically an iphone 12? (not sure what chip it was) inside it doing all the controlling.

Asus has neither only display stream data instead of os aware data and such.

    Sure, done.

My bad — I honestly didn’t think to even check, since literally no other devices have this problem, and it’s enabled automatically on every device imaginable — EXCEPT what the tv identifies as a “PC”

It also doesn’t really go by HDMI port, it goes by device — so even though I was using the same HDMI port as the Apple TV & M1 Mac Mini (which I have HDR working for both…) — and just swapping the cable, that doesn’t matter.

When the TV detects that the device on that port has changed to a “PC” — it will automatically turn off Input Signal Plus, and no full RGB or HDR for you.

Also when you turn it on, it will turn itself off again — if detects the device on that port has changed, even if you change it back to something you had previously connected.

You’ll have to re-enable it every time

    Fucking Samsung…

Maybe you can give @ChrisLoudon the credit he deserves by picking him as the solution since he mentioned this exact thing in the second response to your question?

Thanks everyone, I think I have enough resources from the posts to get started 🙂
I will update this thread when I decide which one to get, but the GL.iNet one with Wifi 6 looks pretty slick!  Has openWRT firmware!!
