  1. There have been a few new houses built in the last year.
  2. Although these are useful tools, they are giving me all the same results. My download speed is higher than rated at around 105 mbps to 110 mbps, and my upload speed is around 3 mbps to 5 mbps. Latency on these test are only being tested once and show around 10 ms to 30 ms given the different locations for testing. Yet, running a ping command for about 20 pings will show spikes in latency. Slight update, it seems that at the moment my ping spikes have stopped. I don't know if it's just the decrease in internet traffic at 1:50 AM or not. I'm usually experiencing these spikes at around 8:30 PM to 12:00 AM (the times when I'm actually home in order to test, relax, and play games before I have to sleep.)
  3. So I have NewWave, basically the only high speed internet solution in my area. I have the basic package, 100 mbps down, 10 mbps up. Here’s the issue, normally when playin online games I have no issues. My latency is typically between 20 ms and 80 ms depending on the game. Lately, for about the last week, my latency has been spiking anywhere between 34 ms to 600 ms, making rubber banding a very big issue, and a tendency to be kicked from competitive ranked games. I’m also going to start working from home soon, using a remote connection to a VM. Solutions I’ve tried already include soft resetting the router, unplugging the router for 5 minutes and plugging it back in, and calling tech support (which basically told me to do the same exact thing). Other points of interest, my device is not the only device in the house experience the issue. The connection is wired Ethernet. I have checked all physical connections, including the coaxial cable to the router. I have done ping tests from multiple devices, including the router itself, and all are spiking around the same ping. Also, I am not getting any dropped packets while testing. Any ideas of what I should do? Should I call tech support again? Also, as for the 10 mbps down, I normally only get 2-3 mbps up and 5 mbps up on a good day. I know they advertise it as “up to 10 mbps.” But it kinda sucks when you are trying to even upload videos or use Skype/Discord. Should I bring this up the next time I call? And before I get the obvious “get better internet” comments, I have already stated that this is the only solution for me at the moment for anything more than 20 mbps down via DSL. And I’m not willing to move to a different area just to have better internet. Also, I understand that some people might think that just upgrading the internet package might be what I need, but it’s not the speed that’s the issue, it’s the latency.
  4. I currently have a rig that hosts a R9 290x Powercolor graphics card and a AMD APU that I will be soon upgrading along with the R9 290x. I want to stick with AMD for the graphics card because I've always had good luck with them. They always seem to overclock well despite being hot cards, but I think that the Polaris cards are going to be even better at overclocking and driver support. Which means that Nvidia will start to really have a competing graphics line up for their 1000 series graphics cards.
  5. I really like the Kova and how it looks. I would love a better gaming mouse than this Alienware one I have now.
  6. The guys at Linus Media Group are awesome. Without you guys, I wouldn't have been able to understand a lot of what I put into my first PC. Even though I am not running a dedicated GPU, it's you guys that inspired me to make a AMD budgeted computer that can still handle most of the games out there. With your help of all of the unboxings and reviews, it made choosing parts so much easier. Although the next gen of RAM and motherboards are coming out, I think I will still keep this computer as a reminder of what I am becoming. If I so happen to be chosen for the prizes, I sadly won't be able to reply within the 3 days. This is because I will be going into boot camp for the United States Marines. I will be gone for 3 months starting September 15th. So, like I said, if I do get picked, I won't be able to reply. Good luck to everyone! Especially the folks at Linus Media. Keep doing what you guys are good at: unboxings, reviews, and helping people understand computers and different tech. I'll be sure to catch up on all of the videos I will miss when I'm gone for the 3 months. See you guys soon!
  7. I think my favorite thing about this phone is the placement of all of the buttons. I think it looks very ergonomic and useful. Also, my favorite thing about dbrand is that they actually made a skin for the phone to promote it. I think that is pretty neat and I wouldn't mind winning a phone that sponsors my favorite YouTube tech channel.

  9. I've got to say that I love the Windforce. I was really planning on buying it myself one day, but winning it in a giveaway sounds really nice too. I do like the PSU, although, it's way too much for my build as it stands lol. Please randomizer, choose me! Here are my two favorite videos!
  10. Honestly, I was just searching YouTube for a review on a product that I was thinking about buying. When I found a good review, I wanted to see more of what they were reviewing. Soon, I subscribed to the channel and became hooked on all of the things I could learn from Linus and his group. Later, I started actually going to the forums and checking things out. I am really happy that YouTube suggested his video for my search, because all of his videos are awesome!
  11. I think my most favorite thing about this ASUS notebook is actually a tie between the nice looks and the overclocking capabilities. I love to see that more and more notebooks are becoming more versatile and better to use as the years go on. I remember when my first laptop could only do basic gaming on the lowest settings, had a crap display that you could only look at one way without the color shifting to black, and ran so hot I had to set it on a huge fan to actually play some games or work on it.
  12. I would have to say my favorite thing about the phone has to be the LG skin it uses. I know I can always change that, but I don't think I would ever need to for this phone. The amount of customization options are fabulous and I like the way it looks, even from just seeing a video of it. I also would love to get rid of my Nokia 900 that runs nothing but Windows 7.8..... ew...
  13. I clicked the link, you should too! My favorite thing about the HTC One (M8) has to be the version of Android with the hardware inside. I absolutely love fast, yet customizable phones.
