I started the build in April, everything was working great! Then came along a bad PSU that took out my CPU/Graphics card.... Still waiting on RMA's on those.

    Build Specs:
    AMD Ryzen 1600 AF
16gb GeIL SUPER LUCE RGB 3200mhz
    256gb Silicon Power M.2
    Gigabyte B450 DS3H
    Asus Radeon RX580 Strix 8gb
    EVGA 500watt W1
5x upHere cheap RGB fans on amazon
Acer - 23.8" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor 75hz
Case - MX340 Couger w/ Front Panel removed.

Currently system is just using a Ryzen 3200g while waiting on RMA's.

Just a budget build for playing some basic games, Dota 2 and some FPS's.

The Desk is built from an old door that I replaced in the house:

Busted out the middle vent things...not sure what they are called haha! Put it some scrap wood from an old dresser, built base with 2x4's, sanded, stained and lacquered. Built some simple shelves with matching stain/lacquer.

A simple desk LED Strip was added to the back.

I got the same mouse for my PC and I love it (I got the K582 + M711 combo keyboard/mouse kit). I'm surprised at how wellboth the keyboard and mouse perform for $65 total. Redragon's software for the mouse (and the keyboard) is great too. You can reprogram every button on the mouse to do whatever you want, and even set macros. I set a macro for the front top mouse button to open the xbox game bar, and moved the dpi control to the back two buttons. For how little the mouse costs, it feels very high quality and has a lot of neat features you can't get on a lot of other mice for the same price.

It won't do anything. No practical reason to use the iGPU at the same time, unless you need to troubleshoot or something.

During adulthood you get more into a routine and will find that you do things in such a way by methods you know. I send emails and game on a monitor, and that is satisfactory for me. I do not feel the need to discord or play in VR. In a couple of years when the kids are playing games in the 6th dimension and communication is done through mouthing into a jelly cup, I will probably be a "grandpa who doesn't get it".

Alright, thanks for the Info! I already thought about the troubleshooting thing. But i' guess i'll just let it as is in BIOS and plug both my monitors into the 1080Ti. My 2nd monitor basically is used for teamspeak, spotify, youtube and netflix while playing games on my 1st monitor. Transcoding isn't really of any use for my because i'll just use the CPU for gaming, no real work.

Honestly, I'd recommend either going for 1" conduit + Junction boxes and standard cable, or doing Shielded Direct Burial cable and just digging a wedge for it and flagging it.

So after getting a couple of drivers installed, and figuring out how to get Windows 10 to see my 4TB drive.
I shut down and went back to work.

So the problem I have run into is that I don't have enough SATA power connectors!
The case requires one to power the case fans, so I only have 5 of my 6 drives connected.
The 250GB WD Blue (old C drive) is an older SSD. So I am thinking of moving the files, formatting it, then disconnecting it, to connect power to the SanDisk 250GB since it is a SATA6 drive.

I do like the lack of RGB on mine VS my son's that I built last fall.

I haven't installed the MSI Mystic Light for controlling yet. (And I haven't had a lot of success with it on my Son's computer anyway)

I got finished at midnight, where my daughter took over. I hope she was able to play her FFXIV Online game. Guess I'll find out when I get home.

And Yes, I will post another thread once the actual desk gets updated.

So please don't complain about the tower on the floor, hopefully that will only last a couple of weeks!!! (fingers crossed)

That desk is really cool, turned out great for being an old door. I hope you get your RMAs back soon, RMAs have been taking forever with the pandemic.

My daughter is going to university to study VFX in September and taking her main rig with her (intel i9 9900k, and a RTX 2070j. When she comes home for holidays and the odd weekend she expressed a need for a PC at home as she didn’t want to bring her main rig back and forth. With this I mind I have just built a second Home PC for her and my wife to use. Didn’t want to spend a lot so it’s a relatively modest build.

    Specs

    Processor - AMD Ryzen 3 3100
    Motherboard - ASUS B450 PrimeM-A
GPU - ASUS RX 570 Expedition OC 4Gb - see note
    16Gb DDR4 3000Mhz
    Silicon Power M.2 Nvme 500Gb
    CoolerMaster Master-liquid ML240L v2 AIO
Kolink Void RGB midi tower case
Kolink Modular 500W Gold plus psu

The graphics card was a steal, it was second hand on eBay as faulty. The seller was saying it was showing error 43 in the driver section. I knew this prob meant it had been used for mining so took a chance, got it for £27. Re-flashed the BIOS and all was well and fully functional.

All in all a nice little PC. 3D Mark for FireStrike is 11,200 so not too shabby.

I would recommend trying to get a B series board (B350/450) instead of an A320 for better upgrade path in the future. PSU wise I'd recommend to go for a corsair CX450 over the thermaltake.
