  1. CPU is at 10%, is this because the load is only on one core?
  2. Hi, recently finished my first PC build Ryzen 5 3600 GTX 1660 Super 16 GB 3200Mhz RAM I'm running Minecraft with VSync Off and no FPS cap, and am running between 300-400 FPS, but my GPU is not at 100% utilisation. I have checked using MSI Afterburner and Task Manager. Can anyone help as to why this isn't running at 100%, as it shouldn't be a CPU bottleneck?
  3. I have a 3600 with the standard Wraith Cooler. I constantly hear its buzzing noise, but I'm not sure if that means something is wrong or its just because the rest of my system is pretty much silent. Is this type of buzzing ambient noise normal? Would a recording of the sound help?
  4. So, I have got back to my PC and my FPS now seems very similar to YT videos so I am a lot less worried now, even though I have only tested in Dauntless. However, I am convinced something is wrong with my MSI / Riva. Setting the toggle in MSI Afterburner just doesn't work in game (I set it to ALT + \). However, the overlay shows up automatically in game anyway, but it only displays some elements: GPU Temp / Usage CPU Temp / Usage Current FPS Even though I have also selected Average FPS, Min FPS, etc... they do not show up I guess it doesn't really matter as I can just look at the FPS in real time.
  5. I wont get back to my PC until the end of the week. Will update here.
  6. Don't worry about it. Honestly, I can't remember if I used your link or not, but I have a feeling I didn't. Just in case though, is there any way for me to check if I have the mobile drivers installed?
  7. Wow thanks for the help! Will set this when I get back to my PC and will update!
  8. No, but the overlay still appears, just not all of the info ive checked
  9. Thats the thing... I have checked loads of assets e.g. min fps, avg fps and ticked the 'Show in OSD' box and it shows up as 'in OSD' but they don't appear. May try reinstalling
  10. Under load At idle CPU is 40-45C. Never really checked GPU at idle Yes definitely inserted in A2 and B2 slots. Will check CPU-Z when I get pack to the PC.
  11. Ok I will try that when I get back to my PC. Thanks for the help. Also, as per the OP could it be a problem with my Riva overlay, since it doesnt seem to be responding correctly e.g. I have checked in game overlay for min fps, avg fps etc and yet it doesnt seem to show up in game?
  12. Video and chipset drivers up to date. Not sure about BIOS. Thermals seem ok: about 70C on CPU and max 76C on GPU, which I've read is ok. DOCP profile is enabled
  13. I understand but my resolution is set to 1080p. Also, I know fps over 60 doesnt show on 60Hz but I need to know if my system isnt performing correctly because it could be a problem when I play more demanding games which are supposed to run at e.g. 80+fps, but instead run at 40 fps on my system
  14. Right, thats good information to have, thanks. But if im not mistaken the 3600 should not even be close to bottlenecking the 1660 Super?
  15. Specs added... shouldnt be a CPU bottleneck
  16. Hi I've just finished my first build and wanted to compare it to youtube benchmarks. However, the yt vid im using is displaying about 150fps on overwatch 1080p epic settings, whereas my msi afterburner / riva overlay seems to be stuck at 70 fps, even dipping below that at some points. I have no idea whats going on. Is this an issue with my msi hopefully, or is something wrong with my build? Thanks in advance and any help is appreciated. Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: Gigabyte 1660 Super Mobo: Asus Prime B450M-A Monitor: Lenovo 1440p l24q 60Hz RAM : Hyperx Fury 3200 MHz
  17. Just installed MSI Afterburner for the pure purpose of having an in game overlay for FPS, temps, etc... Don't want to overclock at all. But whenever I launch MSI Afterburner the initial screen shows 7000 MHz as my boost clock. Is this correct? What does it actually mean? (Sorry this is my first build, only been using a couple days) These figures correct? They shortly drop down to about 300 Mhz and 400 Mhz at idle, just want to know why it starts off so high. I am not trying to overclock anything. Any help appreciated.
  18. I didn't. I will when I get back to my pc. If theres still an option to uninstall radeon drivers I'll just take it as a sign to do a clean install lol. Will let you know
  19. Nice, at least you know what that screen is ffs. Still considering a fresh install of the OS since I hardly have anything installed, and I can be worry-free
  20. Thanks for all the help! I assume you've done this all before. Just to clarify, I should be ok on the repeated attempted Radeon installs side of things right? Since I uninstalled the partial bit that installed and am using nvidia anyway?
  21. This came up immediately Now this has come up OK to hit install?
  22. File name for the actual Chipset Driver? If you're talking about the ASUS one, the folder also said 'chipset' so I had no idea This is the new one I am about to run, please confirm before I end up installing Windows XP
  23. This should undo the several times I tried to install this, right? Sorry to be a pest, but I want this PC to last a good while without upgrading and don't want to make a mistake on Day 2. I have someone else on another thread saying I should do a clean install of the whole OS because of the 'mess' I've created? Now I should be able to install Chip set from AMD and be good to go right? lol, i'm sure they did it, no way I downloaded Radeon software knowingly with an nvidia gpu. The file name even says 'chipset' Just my luck they decide to mess up in time for my first build.
  24. The Chipset Drivers were incorrectly linked on the ASUS website: ^^This downloaded the Radeon GPU Drivers instead, which I (a complete noob) thought were the Chipset Drivers. I can now uninstall the Radeon Drivers (Im using nvidia) and install Chipset Drivers from AMD, unless I'm missing something?
  25. Thanks for specifying lol. Serious question: Is it normal for the Graphics Driver to be under the 'Chipset' heading on the drivers page?
